As you progress on this, watch the difference in value ranges between the rider and the dragon he's on. The rider's darkest darks are much darker than the dragon's at this point and it flattens them out.

Eminkey: Thanks man.
Andy: For sure, good point you got there thanks for pointing it out.
So the deadline is getting near, just have one more day to work on this bad boy. hopefully I can finish this...
-Frank
Very nice rendering! Can't wait to see the finished vesion!
Mister Dark: Thank you for dropping by! hope you like this update if you do come back.
Ok, I said I would bust my ass to create portfolio worthy pieces. Hopefully this one qualifies..learned a ton.
and to those who are interested, my WIP...
-Frank
I still would like the push this some more, any help is appreciated.

-Frank

Awesome artist and friends
Nkristian
^soheeNgel: Thanks will do!
Eh finished for now I guess, time to move on to the next piece. (sorry for the big size)
-Frank
Some "quick" imaginary figures. Took me longer than I thought I would to come up with poses. Just glad I am some what able to bust some out of my head. Studying does help.
-Frank
My next wip piece. crits most welcome and appreciated.
-Frank
The Reverend is great. Love the general look, wouldn't mind to see the different colours also being transferred to the rest of the character, not just the arm.
Solid stuff! the face of that monster in post #274 is very well rendered and executed. A good portfolio piece.
Whoa. I step out of the room for a second and you go and make a ton of awesome stuff! Both the dragon rider and the priest came together nicely. With the new guy, check the length of his shins, they too short to me...or maybe his lower arm is too long, one of the two.
Great work Frank!
Janos: Thank YOU for the crit I did change it up a bit more because of your advice.
Braintree: Thanks man!
Andy: Followed the advice, thanks for the look out man!
fixed the proportions a bit more. laying down some colors for now.
-Frank
The definition and color look great on the creature, but I think it badly needs a background, and maybe some cave-features overlapping in places.
GoGoJojo: Thanks glad you like them teeth
Eminkey2003: Yea I agree, the bg may seem rushed I suppose.
Tired of drawing dudes, switching to the ladies. Our gun man had a sex change! please welcome gun woman...
This time I'll try to directly work with color with some new brushes I made.
-Frank
Sweet! She already shows signs of having stronger character than the dude, who was nice but a bit generic. Really tell us who this lady is and why she's toting a big ass gun! Her facial expression and costume can go a long way in defining who she is. I'm excited to see where she goes![]()
Andy: Thanks man, thats how I feel about her also!
trying to be a fashion model now... it's hard to get some gear on this woman..
-Frank
Frank, go wild on her! Just slap a new layer on and try a bunch of crazy stuff till you find bits that work and keep going from there. I have faith in you young grasshopper![]()
GoGoJojo: thanks m'am, will do!
Andy: I got that going on, thanks to you!
Well officially working on an indie game as a concept artist now...so I definitely need more help to help me improve. Here are the latest.

HAHA CONGATS BROTHERan ONLY THE PENITENT PRIEST SHALL PASS (INDIANA JONES
) really ROCK'N THE MODEL HEAD SHEET MAKE THAT MONEY
Congrats Frank! Are you at liberty to say with whom you're working?
LOVE all the latest digital work Frank! Epic stuff, the last portraits are great, such variety and character!
Thanks a bunch for sb visits too!
Cheers,
matt
Congratulations on the position and very well done dragon, it turned out great.
Grandmassa Mr. Spect: Thanks broski!! unfortunately it's one of those start up indie games, so the pay won't be coming anytime soon (if at all). Doesn't mean I'll quit on this project. It would definitely provide me with a great portfolio building experience.
BRINKMAN!: I'm a "concept artist" for this project called Northern Ireland: 1983 right now. This isn't really a "real" job as I imagined it to be, but I'm optimistic enough to say that I'll be learning a great deal of things from the experience.
JailHouseRock2: I dig what you are doing over at your sketchbook man. Those pencil sketches rock!
Gamerhomie: Thanks man!
Here are some finished concepts of a few of the main characters.
Also if you guys have the time, please visit my portfolio and leave me some comments here on what you think I can add/improve on it. Thanks!

Congratulations, and nice variation in the faces! Nice volume in your recent paintings too. You can almost reach out and wrap your hands around them. : ]
eminkey2003: Thanks man!!
Yowzers!! I feel like I got zapped by the environment god! My first of many imaginary environments (minor ref used to grab mood) to come.
-Frank
Nice colors! The only thing that bugs me is the cave...I know it's not important in a sketch, but I'd make the little guy look outnumbered by those red-eyed monsters. Right now, it just looks like he could take on the one monster by himself, considering the cave door is about human size. These are just stupid little "human" things that I've been told people will notice.
eminkey2003: Thanks man, I did change it up and added a bigger threat in my portfolio.
Here's a small update. Continuing on with my supporting character concepts in this game. Also, next goal, learn to use illustrator as confident as I use PS. So if you have great time saving workflow tips on illustrator, be sure to pass it on to a newbie like me*nudge nudge*.
