Avocado: Thanks. I see what you mean... But the tower is pretty cartoony at the same time so I don't know if realistic colors would work so well

Here's what we're doing in the concept art course this week...

A few balls and a bunch of mood boards for the game...

    I like the coloured balls.

Don't worry about the brushes; I'm sure you'll work out what works best for you and I'm no expert.

Black Spot: Thanks. Yeah. I guess I'll just have to keep experimenting and stuff

Here are a couple of gestures/studies from photos... As well as the beginning of a study of a painting by some guy called Juan Gimenez who makes pretty cool art.

    And some kind of creature...

Now I have to write a presentation about how the brains language functions works... no time for painting :/

We're going to make concept art for a "game" (well, a theoretical game, anyway) so the moodboards are for the enviroments, characters, props and artstyle of the game. It's supposed to take place in a dystopic future, and the main characters are a couple of guys who're robbing banks in order to save up enough money to flee the country and its corrupt government... But then I googled guns or something and saw the old western gun... and figured it would be cool if everything looked like it was designed in the 19th century with lots of cast iron and no plastics and stuff... Hopefully it won't look too weird

The steampunk type of world usually does look good, so go with it.

Like the girl with the sword; she's looking fresh colour wise.

sweet update man! those balls are cool. and that girl with the sword is looking epic!

on that striped/horned creature, the back right leg looks out of perspective (it looks like its going too far back) and his spine looks too straight, it seems like it should curve with the body a little more. also, where the fur meets the horns on its head, i think you could define the shape more.

sweet stuff though- keep it up

Hey dude! It's a pleasure to see someone developing skill and style.
love the watercolour studies, its a favoured medium of mine. I reckon if you pursue the classical drawing mediums(graphite, charcoal, watercolour oils and so on) you will set your self up for any didgital media that you plan on overcoming.

    keep going!
    My mind is dissolving!

The shadow denoting her armpit is too far left. It looks really awkward in that area.

Wokjow: Thanks for stopping by Right now I think I wanna focus on digital just to get the hang of it better. (Well, that and my course requires it...) But I'll definately be doing some more traditional stuff later

BlackSpot: Yes. Something definately looks off with the shoulder. I tried to fix it... hopefully it looks a little better.

Nice to meet you tobbA Krato brings up a nice point, it looks as if she was just out for a nice long run and now shes poseing for us haha. Watch out for the proportions on the last one, the left arm is alot larger then the right arm (our right)

Yeah, I had some trouble getting the perspective right in the still life... Very difficult with all those round shapes. But I think I did as well as I could at least.

I guess you're right about the proportions there... It was done in less than an hour so I didn't have much time to correct things.

    Here's a landscape from a photo

I changed the girl a bit as well... Made her cheeks slightle less red. As well as some other minor things. And tried to crop her to see if it looked better. But I'm not too sure...

I think if you moved her head to the left a bit it would help loads. The lower legs aren't the same length. Its coming on bit by bit.
