very nice updates mani think the imaginary stuff has some proportional issues though, examples are: on the first two characters the legs are a bit short & on the rocker his shoulders/chest smaller than it should be. MOAR studies should help fix this

Thanks for stopping by.
Yeah. Definately more studies. I also think I need to be more consious of my proportions and stuff.
Here's another watercolor. Except for the perspective on the tree being off (well, and lots of other things i guess) I'm pretty happy with it.

it seems kind of ridiculous that the horses are all lined up hehe ^^ even if you are trying to lead the viewer's eye toward the castle i think you could break up the line a little bit.
everything feels like it's floating upwards a bit, perhaps add some more horizontal lines in the painting to keep it grounded.
it's refreshing to see this kind of fantasy image though without giant monsters or sword wielding babeskeep it up!

Yeah. You're right about the horses i guess. What do you mean by horizontal lines?
Here's something meant for chow... I'm not sure if I like it. Something about the colors maybe...

i meant like the strokes of your brush, i think if you added more horizontal strokes as opposed to verticals (like on the path) it might groudn the painting a bit more.
in the last painting i think either she needs to be more foreshortened or the steps need to be lower/more evened out with the ground plane.
your rendering's getting better! keep it up

Heh. I was afraid those would look like steps ^^' It's actually a stone altar of some kind. But I understand there's really no way to tell it is or a reason for it to be there at all... I think I'm just gonna drop it...
And that's good advice about the strokes
And... Here's the new one

looks a lot better! i guess what i mean to say is, the horizon looks like it should be lowered a little bit.

aww cute! i think either the bear or the stuff he's perched on should be darker to separate the two.
the horizon line should be an easy fix, just lower the back wall line and use the persp tool in PS to adjust the ground plane.

hi there Tobba; happy to see you're still at it. I like the bear. I still say you really have to stop using pencillines to set up your drawing :p but you'r not listening to that huh?
Warning, I draw babiez
Well... Uh. I kinda like using pencils. Besides my water color teacher tells me to do that
I'm aware I've used them kinda sloppily in many of these paintings. But I've wanted to get a good basic drawing to work with. I figure I might rely less on them, or at least use them more effectively, once I get a little more comfortable with the medium...

Next version of Frankenbride... Couldn't find any perspective tool though ^^'

I looked through all 6 pages. Your animal pictures stand out, especially the portrait ones for friends. Life drawing would help your figures a lot in giving them a better understanding of form as at the moment they're sort of cartoonish. I like the way you have improved with watercolours over the pages and that teddy bear is miles better than the first watercolour you posted.
Look at the perspective of that table behind your Bride. It's wrong for the eye level. The steps were closer.
Hey man, your watercolors have improved a good deal! It seems like a lot of your characters suffer from cartoony proportions and anatomy though, if I'm correct in assuming that you're going for a realistic look. Those thick lines are also killing the form and realism. I'm glad to see that you removed the thick line from most of the bride painting, however the dark line underneath the jaw line should be removed, as well as the outline on parts of the dress, especially at the straps. I'd also look into removing the cast shadow, either that, or making it more solid and following the contour of the dress, because right now it is just confusing. Otherwise, you're making great strides in your painting ability, keep it up man!
Thanks for the crits... All very uselful. I got a bit sick of the frankenbride so Ii'll see what I'll do about it... Changing the whole bg seems like too much work right now. I should've layed out the perspective more carefully in the first place.
Something just for fun. I kinda dislike this kind of 'spiritual' art usually but... eh. When it's a kitty in it nobody can resist, right?![]()

Fanart from the anime Higurashi No Naku Koro NiThought it would be fun to do one of the characters in a more realistic style

She sure looks scary. You've dropped her right should, but if the hips are going to stay in that position her right torso needs to be further back.
Thanks for commenting
I guess I should've posted the update earlier...
I edited her pose a bit. I'm not sure if it resolves what you mention though.

I think so. she could have a bit more pronounced hips. if you want her to have a woman's physique she should have more hip. either way, about where her tummy sticks out from under the shirt, you'd want to see the bone definition a bit more.
or she's just really chubby.
good style though; if they'd done the series like that I wouldn't have been so confused around episode 3 when the body parts started flying.
Warning, I draw babiez
looking not bad. i think if you unoutline her hair, thin her waist and give her larger eyes it'll fit the outfit better.

Thanks for the crits... I made her eyes bigger (sure made her scarier...) and tried to make her waist a bit thinner. I'm not entirely sure how to go about making her hips wider without it looking weird... But I widened her skirt a wee bit at least. Unoutlining the hair... I tried to fiddle a bit with it but I didn't think it was very outlined to begin with.
Also dumping a few more things... Zelda Fan-Art that probably has a few crit-worthy areas... And an ogre I've been working on
Trying to spend more time with my stuff and it sure helps...![]()

I'm glad you gave her a waist - I didn't want to say she was looking like a guy in drag. The waist made a big difference.
Cool work man! Nice to see you finishing works more, it's bringing improvement along.
Big thing here though... work on your values some. You're hitting blacks way too fast, especially in that ogre dude.
Keep it up![]()
