wow! Dude, seems like you've been really productive lately!

I really dig the sketches from your threadless submission. It's good you're introducing more subject matter to build that visual vocabulary!

Painting portrait in post 109: I think the nostrils need to be shaped a bit more.

    Keep up the good work!

eminkey2003 and BRINKMAN!: Yeah they are done pretty fast.
I will try spend more time on the next ones.
crabbyclem: Thanks man! and yeah, the nose looks very wrong in that one

    Update:
Croquis (some 1 or 2 min, 5 min, a 10 min and the last one 20 min). I´m a bit busy this week with a school assignment but will try updating anyway.

    Nice croquis!
I have to say i like the topmost one's the best, you got a real steady hand and fine lines for such fast ones.

Hmmm, proportions look weird on that last one. The back looks too short.

    Gorgoleon: Thank you my friend!
eminkey2003: You are right. I painted the same model the day after (will take a photo of that tomarrow) and at first, the back was too short but I spotted it and took care of it in the painting.

    Update
Some posemaniacs and Bridgman, this time 1 minute ones and also the work I have been doing for school this week. It´s product that will help smokers survive the cold winter, plus some bonus features The text at the top says: "Smoke in all kinds of weather" and at the bottom it says: "Do it with style".

The model study is really well done. It has a nice range of warm and cool colors in it. The edges are better in this study than a lot of your other color pieces, too.

The smoking poster makes me laugh, I love the beard-holding string!
Your digital paintings need the same attention to edge that your traditional paintings have. I think they would benefit from a blocky/shape-oriented approach (like you undoubtedly use when using traditional paint), rather than the cloudy, soft approach that you are currently using.

Good work! Keep up those studies, you are making great strides.

BRINKMAN!: Thanks man! I just really like the soft brush but maybe i´m overusing it I will keep that in mind.

    Update:
I tried out the exercise eminkey2003 does sometimes (the faces).
On the digital painting from ref I wasn´t to concerned about getting the likeness this time, because I didn´t want that to become an obstacle.

It's nice to see your style come together in the smoking ad, but I think the right side looks empty. Maybe a landscape in the background would help. The line weights also look uncomfortable, with the way the hand has all the thickest lines and the jacket's lines are all nearly the same thickness.

About faces: try turning the grid on and off, and like I said before, try flipping the image. The last face really could benefit from a flip because her jaw is shifting over to our right. When you flip the image, stuff like that really stands out. What you want (in most cases) is an image that works no matter how it's flipped (must be especially important in manga because they sometimes flip the images in the English translations).

And uh, anyway! Keep it up! You don't have to agree with everything we say, by the way!

eminkey2003: Thanks man. I think the logos balances it a bit, but I should have had some people freezing in the background
What do you mean with the grid? Yeah i´m actually flipping from time to time but often I don´t think about this, thanks for reminding me. And I know I don´t have to agree with everything you guys say but you say good stuff Thanks for the crits!

About the grid: In Photoshop, go to View>Show>Grid (or use the keyboard shortcut to flip it on and off). That way, you can break up the image into smaller parts and get a better look at the sizes, lines, negative shapes, etc. It helps you notice small things that you might usually pass over. Just don't let it become a crutch!

You study lots and lots, but I still don't see much from imagination. Put those skills to work!

I agree with what eminkey said about teh flippzors! I also agree with what he said about you not needing to agree with us... sorry for badgering you about the edges in your digital pieces!

I like the colors and warmth of your last self portrait.

Alm0st: Thank you very much man! Lazer surgery level haha
eminkey2003: Yeah, the thing is, I want to get it right without the use of a grid but as you say, can be helpful sometimes if i´m stuck and can´t se where I have to make changes.

I have actually started a project with with another guy at school, we are going to do a comic. He is writing and i´ll be drawing and I have also been busy with some illustrations for a competition for a childrens book. I will post those images sometime soon.
BRINKMAN!: I agree about not agreeing thanks man!

As I wrote to eminkey i´ve been busy these last days trying to make the deadline for a competition, but anyways, here´s some hands and a very early sketch from a comic project about two shamans.

great drawings as usual. I'm always impressed with your economy of lines and good anatomy proportions.

Very neat poster. I like how the smoke leads the eye from the text to the dude.

Nice life paintings and life-drawings dude!
I do think there is still a disconnect between the quality of your traditional media works and your digital work, but it mostly just seems that you need to spend more time rendering your digital works... the foundations are there.

    Keep up the good work!

The prints look great. Some of the designs could've used some line variation. It would make it easier to see the forms, and then you can easily identify what you're looking at. The figure drawings are great, they have really nice volume in them, and I think that's starting to come naturally to you in some places. The Geof Darrow monster could use some depth-- give the back legs thinner lines.

Mumph, my old CA friend, every time I come and visit, you stun me with your progressing paintings!

one little crit tho...it seems like a major problem is alignment for faces. my guess would that it had to be when you do things quick that it happens. for instance that quicky howling DSG has a minor misalignment. I usually just establish an axis right away. hope this info, which I'm sure you have heard before, helps a little.

anyways keep those updates coming, and I promise to update more myself xP.

Flaskpost: Tack så mycket! Jepp det ordnar jag Min polare gjorde grunden och så gjorde vi båda linjerna. detalj hela
BRINKMAN!: Thank you! Yeah, I need to start a digital painting project soon, something that will take a while to finish.
    Bartovan: Thank you very much!
eminkey2003: Thanks for the critique! I often forget about lineweight so you are right about that. About the G. Darrow figures, I haven´t drawn those, they are from this image: http://members.fortunecity.com/tehri...y/print_03.gif ,but it was more about just finding something to print as a pattern.
Alm0st: Yo my friend! Yeah I see what you mean and yes I think it´s because they are speedpaints. Yep I also try to establish an axis right away about the first thing I do. I Will try to update more regularly, been way too long since my last update.

    Update:
    A batman speedie.
I´ve been busy with school and stuff so I havn´t really had time to update but I have some stuff to show (model drawings and painting). I´m back home for a week now so that stuff will have to wait. Tomarrow I will update with some stuff from the comics project.

    Update:
So, this is how far i´ve come with the first page of me and my friends comic project. Still a lot left, critique would be great. I´ve never done a comic project at this scale before so I don´t really know what i´m doing Got some help from Scott McCloud´s books on the subject and ofcourse my teachers. I will try to update tomarrow with more progress and perhaps some other sketches. The first panel with the wolves are pretty much looking like the reference but I will try to draw them more from my imagination as in the last panel. have to do some more in depth studies.
