Hello...

Thought I'd start a sketchbook over here, just a small selection of some of my favourite drawings. But a little more about me first...
I'm a design student based in South Wales, UK specialising in illustration, and print and screen-based design. I have always been passionate about design, illustration and all types of art since a very young age and I am fanatical about communication in all forms, from hieroglyphs to graffiti. However, I strongly believe that if a design does not communicate in any way, it is not applicable as a work of design. I think that because of my graphic design background, a lot of my work seems to focus on shapes and colour rather than realism... Now enough about me... onward to the sketchiepoos....I'm currently working on a graphic novel project at the moment called 'eglurhad' so a lot of the sketches here are related to that. I'm also designing human versions of Sonic The Hedgehog characters for a friend (I'm a sucker for my friends) but rather than translating them directly, I'm trying to figure out what roles they'd take in this world. And I'm an idiot...^.^''''

BTW, does anyone have any advice on which paper/settings are best for producing artwork prints for an inkjet?

Latest sketch for this week's CHOW. The little girl is her sister Derizade. I don't know what I was thinking of when I doodled the little genie doll... still, it's cute.

I like the eglurhad chapter 1 picture but maybe you could push the darks more? If some parts of the characters upper bodies were in the darkness maybe it would be more dramatic. It would probably look even more dramatic if the light would come from underneath them, giving more
contrast to the face.

I like the concept of a human sonic, I do that for fun sometimes, thinking about what for example the turtles would look and be like humanized

Mumph: Thanks for the feedback. Appreciate it! The eglurhad cover is simply a rough sketch. Me and Andrew are still figuring it out, and indeed, the project has undergone a name change into 'Cathddu'. Thanks anyway...

Hello.
Yes, I'm still alive, even though I haven't posted much on this sketchbook recently. I'm afraid this post is another human Sonic/Tails affair, but Tails' cuteness more than makes up for it!

Finsished Sonic and Tails. PHEW! Glad to get them out of my system!
