Lightbulb Daily Updates-Help me get better so I can create a Portfolio!

Hello, thanks for visiting my sketchbook. I Just started college. I turned 18 a few weeks ago and I decided that I was going to start tracking my progress on here with you guys. Please provide crits, and point me in the right direction whether it be an art book or a website, so I can improve upon my weaknesses.

    Welcome.
For now I'd say maybe try to draw some humans from reference photos or look into an anatomy book, or draw from life..like your hand and what not.
practice practice practice, pretty sure thats what everyone here would say.

Good start, just keep up the drawing

boba64 - Thanks for your feed back. The majority of what I have done in the past couple of months was studing anatomy and people. What I am posting this week are just some quick sketches, because I've been busy. I will definitely post some new anatomy and figure studies asap.

Your proportions are all over the place, so use alot of life or reference for a while. Plus, there are some great free Andrew Loomis PDF's online, he has some pretty helpful ideas about structure etc.

Just keep at it and have fun too.

Thanks For the feedback. I'll start studying Loomis. I've seen some of his books before but I haven't focused enough attention on them, yet. These are some abstract works from class, today.

This is a very very light study on arms because they are one of my weak points. The other two works are from ref. Since the majority of my art is done in graphite it's nice to work in ink.

I have a couple of quick ink + brush studies from class today. I'm starting to get my feet wet when it comes to digital art. I still have a lot to learn, but it is a lot of fun.

Please crit/point me in the right direction.
