Sweet! Count me in. I was just bemoaning the fact that I didn't finish the Space Smuggler in time. Will post her soon!
Update 9/4:
Here's my 24th Century Space Smuggler. If anyone's interested in my wips and conceptual artwork, please visit my sketchbook.
Well, my shading's kinda crummy...

I gotta Space Smuggler and a few others.
This is great! Thanks
ETA: Awright, I'm revisting! Here's CHOW 124. *We've caught our smuggler and her co-pilot in the middle of a disagreement....
daest: Good call on the muddiness. I'm fixing that!

I've come up with a little list. I'm in.

Space smuggler and Red Sonja
I will probably work on these again when I get a chance happy with the pose etc but the colours and lighting are dull on both - something I need to work on. Feedback and advice welcome via pm.

SKETCHBOOK
"There aren't any shortcuts. You've got to dig in – study and draw the world around you. This is the only way to hone your skill and develop a style that is your own". GREG CAPULLO
What a great idea!!
OOOOooooooooh count me in! There are so many that have been started, and then lost the will to finish because life got in the way of the deadlines... So glad to be here! GREAT THREAD!! Final entries HERE I COME!!
I'm saving this space for my own entries, as well as comments for other people.
Teigrob: Niiiice. Her expression is great!
Pat: Haha, I love it! My only crit is that the colours are a little muddy in places - i have a feeling it's due to the grey. But I love the alien dude, he's awesome!

reserve a place??? yikes... sounds really eeriee... like a catacombs of passsss CHOWwwwww.....![]()
anyway for CHOW 125
another WIP...i think the legs are a bit short... plus need to expand the canvas to include the missing legs... or crop it further to focus more on the character's face....
from SB (wanted a more mature response from the character, his contentment, looking at the village that was told will benefit from his death, thinking: at least his death will amount to something of a greater good... with that. maybe the brief's ceiling age of 10 for this kid.... anatomy is off, especially the shortened legs....was originally sketch mirror, flip it to check for anatomy anomalies... found plenty.)
plus the kid looks more like Egyptian than Aztec descendant...

Chow #122 - Red Sonja: It was a busy week and sadly I only made it as far as the pencil sketch. (posting soon)
Chow #124 - Space Smuggler: Took some of the crits and made the adjustments. I like it better; I'm new to color though and mentally I'm still picking it apart...grrr...
O.o this is awesome! I'm marking my space, but I promise not to have *too* many revisits... so many i was sad to miss!
Here's my 24th century space smuggler and her alien side-kick. I can't believe I actually finish this thing! anyway...I know the background is a bit rushed...but I hit that point when I'm just done with this painting.
comments and critiques would be appreciated![]()
I really enjoyed it. still experimenting with various styles to kind of feel the water of digital painting. Will try something new next time.
Some rockin space smugglers...
Scribs, I love her sass and pose, very very nice. Maybe just work towards a little more color harmony, you have saturated yellow and green and red, maybe something a little subtle next go round to balance out? Awesome work!
feifeicreate - awesome progress there, too, just watch those black shadows on the tummy, the purples you have on the leg look much more sophisticated and less muddy.
Been poking at Scheherazade cause I really, REALLY wanted to finish her, but Ike had other plans. Should be close to done soon...

cool! space reserved... I always get to the chow on fri afternoon and never finish.
Yaaaaay!! This'll be perfect for me!! @_@ I had some ideas way back and never even STARTED, let alone got to finish! ...Except for one... o_o
Anyway, so I guess I could put my picture place here and see what all I come up with!!![]()
I'm so glad this thread was started. I think I may finish that Little Mermaid design that I had. Plus there are a few others in here that sounded really interesting that I wanted to try my hand at.
Hurrah that this thread idea got approved! Here's my lineart for the mermaid Chow, just in the process of painting it traditionally... and jessi, looking forward to the progress on that Arabian Tales piece, I'd love to see it finished up!

still very much a wip.

Chow#127 - The Little Mermaid... Was ill so missed the deadline but here she is in mer and human form:
Always strive for perfection. You will never achieve it, but will learn so much more in the striving.
I tried to get the values right before colouring, still practising with the greyscale coliouring method. If anyone can help would be most appreciated because I'm not really happy with the colour version. Really want to get it good as I can for a portfolio piece.
OK an update, finished for now, might go back and work on it later for fun.

Coloured up the "Aztec Sacrifice" picture and removed the facepaint. It made her look like a ninja turtle.
Next up, I should probably finish the Little Mermaid WIP.
Ok, I corrected some issues I had with my Bathory character. Here's where it is now.
You can work now and play later, or play now and work later.
Bettie Page-Chow:
I have a soft spot for Bettie Page. So when she died, i drew 1 pic based on a photo of her and finished that in time for the chow. The rest however was more based on several pix and more based on the 'feel'. These are actually just a few of them, i still have 6 to 9 more of them to finish....
Some of the pix might be a bit naughty, i was a li'l disappointed to see that with the chow the bondage/sm side wasn't explored more. So, here are my versions, if they're too much, please pm and i'll edit. No, that's not bubblegum.
Chow 152: Mary of the Blue Lights:
Did another one, fairly late.

My Super villain Self-portrait
So it's me as Conan the Barbarian -styled character: Evileye, Goddess of all cruel subjectors... or something, can't find the right word now. Will hopefully post more works later. Thanks for the opportunity
And Baba Yaga. I might do another version with computer later.

Did a bit more work on my sith, enough to post it here, anyway.

zephyri Very nice and clean lineart, and I like the duality of the piece. You have also a very good grasp of that art nouveau style.
feifeicreate Your space smuggler looks very punk and very drunk.I like the cybernetic arm being tinkered.
I never got around to finish my E.G. Brownstone, private investigator of the paranormal, in time for CHOW #148 deadline. After finally finding time to finish it, here it is in all it's glory.
