I'll star by posting these. They are photo studies. Me and my mate joe both pick a photo from flickr in turn to copy. To learn about za colorings and the stuffs ya ken ? heh!

These were certainly fun to do!, Challenging and sorta motivation killing with all the SKIN involved.. eek , But great fun and i'm still psyched to do more tonight.

I think the rainforest is the best one, wait to experiment a bit with brushes until your more confident with the one. The first one we did ( the pink one ) is cool, but I feel the colors are quite stark and it doesnt look very 'skinlike', looks almost vectoral.
Can't wait to see more mate.

Here be another one I just did. It's a far cry from the original photo, but it was an interesting one to do. I hope I captured the foggy athmosphere of the photo.

But here's one last copy I just finished.
The foreground tree is a pain. I hope I didn't fuck it up to much by using a custom brush for the small branches.

That's a nice one there freddy!

The background brown is too saturated, it pops it foreward too much which is why the depth isn't being sold too much in the pic, That's about it though, well achieved for á speedy.
lets do some more hot chix!

Alrighty, had some foodz and was feeling confident'ement. So I put my hand at a freestyle paint. No photos. I did use some ref pics for horses !

looking good, it seems you are getting pretty good at getting the colors, but I would recommend drawing people and things from life, I think it would really take you far, and if you can do any figure studies thats great too. So far everything is looking good, just keep up the drawings.

Here's another flickropy. Done this morning. But man I struggled with this one.
I totally underestimated it. The perspective, light and color,...fuck!
This one was way beyond my skill lvl. I think I picked the colors to saturated again, and I fucked the depth a bit.

Anywho, here it be.

Woah,! You picked a hard one batman!. I'm getting the depthy feeling, but as a tip ,try using larger brush strokes in the background. A lot simpler less defined ones, and save the detail for the foreground.

I hope you can see it's Michael Cain. I tried to get the skin shading right and, well, make it look like mr Cain. Obviously it's a copy of a photo.

Crit would be on the "I poop now" piece lol funy.. .anyway where was I .. The values are very hard.. try to soften them out. Instead of going from black to white, try darkgray to lightgray or so..

Your absolutely right about the contrast on the character Defiledvision, I have to use more greytones.

Those are really cool Joe. You can kind of see the scale isn't right, but that brings more of a mystic feel to the photographs for sure. Very artistic.

Here's another copy I just did of some pool balls. This one was really interesting for me. Especially the black one's almost purple reflection.

Here's another flickropy. Since it's his birthday I copied Keanu Reeves, I hope you recognize him.
After checkin an overlay with the photo I saw I was off in shape/ proportion a deal, but I really missed out on the more yellow/orang type skin tones.
It was supposed to be a speedy, but I guess it turned out to be a 2 hour one.
I just got lost in Keanu's dreamy eyes

good to see anothor not copy things from you, it shows more from someone's skills.
the perspective is stronger at the legs than the rest of the body, the far leg is too much smaller than the other. okay, his legs are apart, but still, I feel something odd perspective here... and I userstand there's a shadow, but I have a feeling he doesn't stand stable...
the sky has a really strange color, well, maybe for the mood and I'm bad with colors so I shut up for now, I have too vague feelings about it and I would did it worse anyway I like your figure despite the mentioned issue and the too sketchy left arm, he has an impressive torso and even a manly and determined look!

Heres another speedy. This time with no reference. Very simple. I just wanted to get a desert feel.
