Hi everyone, thought I'd rethrow my hat in the ring in this section. If you are not too familiar, I have a sketchbook going in the Fine Art section...

I feel at the point I'm getting to in that thread, it's a little inappropriate to keep it going in that area and the sketchbook section is a little more fitting.

Here's my latest stuff, comment away, don't go easy on me, if you have something to point out to me, freely give it, my ass is like a hide at this point.

Update on that self portrait from earlier, the thing was going horridly out of control and I wiped the paper and started over. Wanted to get a little anatomy practice in as well, so this new one is sans shirt but still the hat.

An update on my self portrait, sorry for the delay, been out of my studio for a week doing some teaching and trying to get some other work done. I'll have an update to the painting up shortly as well. Had to make some compositional changes after starting.

No, I figure if I call my stuff crap, I don't have to make excuses for anything when it does turn to crap

Nice work! It looks more like fine art than conceptual, although I guess when I say conceptual I am thinking of game/movie art. I guess its technically concept art if they are studies for a final piece. Okay Im rambling, but exquisite work! Your technique is awesome.

Ninjerina - Thanks. This forum has always had a strong user base of fine artists, one of the reasons, in my opinion, that this is one of the better forums to participate in. Kind of has a big motley assortment of well skilled artists, always has been that way.

Update on the portrait, will be finished tomorrow. Sorry for the washed out color, my camera lens broke when my dogs ran through my camera tripod in the studio yesterday and I'm using an old beater lens for the time being.
