I don't think the girl needs the ONLY defined edge in the composition. Her silhouette is framed nicely with the contrast you've painted in and quite frankly I feel like my contact lense fell out when I look at the majority of this image. Too soft, but with understandable intent--
just an opinion, as always.

and yea, i was going for a feeling of the tentacles constantly slithering forward, hence the blur, but i think i should try to resolve that issue, because it does just seem out of focus
