Hey folks...This is my first post to Conceptart.org...considering it's Halloween today, I guess it's an appropriate time to post this monster themed sketchbook thread. I recently started this one, hoping to devote it to just drawings of classic movie monsters. All these are done from pics I found online, or scanned from an awesome old book I've had since I was kid (and that gave me nightmares), called a Pictorial History Of Horror movies (by Denis Gifford).
Most of the stuff I draw is from my head - my own stylized monsters and whatnot, but I wanted to try and capture as close as I could, the likenesses in these pics. I did it as an exercise for myself, exploring the relationships of dark and light and negative space in those old black and white photos. Any and all comments and crits are welcome.
