    revenebook

Finally I succeded in taking time to scan some of my sketches and start a sketchbook. Some people here on CA warmly suggested me to start one as a way to have a feedback on my works and improve my skills.
I'm an architect, I have no artistic formation just passion for drawing, I discovered digital painting and it changed my life.

Here's some of my digital stuff and some sketches...

A bit of everything: doodles, EoW and ChoW thumbnails and sketches, anatomy studies... Most of these sketches were done while on bus going to work.

I should post smaller images maybe...

mcunha98 wowwww! the first visitor of my sb!!! I think you should win something but I haven't thought about any prize...
Thank you for your comment, I like drawing environment, coming from architecture make it easier. But I'm struggling to learn human anatomy...

    This is awesome.

I dunno how people manage to sketch whilst on the bus...

HAJiME eheheh! Desperation and lack of time push one to do strange things, even sketching on a bus. I block in some ideas and once I'm back home I have something to work on...

Yes! Awesome!!! I love all these tiny thumbnails of various things. I also really appreciate how you draw different things, not just cowboys and zombies haha. And don't worry about the image sizes, they're just right.

    Awesome stuff. I'm gonna subscribe

i dig those fineliner drawings - so accurate, yet loose! the page with the faces seems a tad stiffer, perhaps because you aren't as comfortable with them, yet?

I think you've got some great foundations here. Your environments are certainly better than anything I've ever done.

My professors have told me that architects and industrial designers tend to be excellent concept artists because their careers demand that they generate dozens of precision designs in a short period of time. I can see in your house and prop designs that your technical skill is great; your figures, on the other hand, need some work. That all comes down to practice, however, and you're doing a ton of studies, so I'm sure that it will come with time. Keep it up, you're doing fine!

Thank you all, guys. Your appreciation tells me that all the time I spend drawing and painting digitally is not wasted after all...

Senira, katinki you're right, I'm more confident with tehcnical drawing (obviously) but I like so much drawing the human figure that I spend nearly all of my time studying and sketching it (not much time overall, otherwise I would draw it much better...).
I'm stronger at drawing enviroments (and I like it) but I also like learning to draw character. My problem is: should I drop characters and concentrate on enviros or try to get good at both? I received no formal artistic formation so I just wander through various subjects trying to make exercise about everything, but it looks like it will take all of my life...

MeTaL-Mike Thank you for stopping by! I'm looking forward for the next Sketchmeet...

Tmza, Lucent Verner, FleetFox, IanE thank you!!

Nice environments, keep it up. Be careful with your contrast, some are a bit too high in it.

Awesome sketchbook, all the structures and colours look spot on and I like a lot how you do the values on the felt sketches of structures. Bridgeman has a very structural approach to figure drawing that I think you could take up very quickly. Some of your portraits have great character but to get further with the head anatomy, I'd draw loads from photo reference, or from TV like I do if you have a freeze button . Keep up the great work!

Hey man! Some real nice enviros here. Your figures are also coming along, so just keep practising them and you'll be seeing improvement soon. Your structures and your colours though are simply sublime and I pray you keep it up so we can enjoy some more

The figure is no different than doing a technical drawing.
    This book is good though.

My ChoW #124 entry and an old exercise (thanks to Wanimal for the original picture).

humanNature6115, Chaichan, Mischeviouslittleelf, dlquddnr, smuli thank you all guys! I know, I need much much much practice with characters and anatomy...

Saturns Gate thank you! Actually I tend to get carried away with contrast when painting in b&w...

Anjin thank you man! I'm a bit slow at painting so I don't think this SB will be updated often...

TheGnoll Thank you! It's a pretty new SB, that's why you haven't seen it... I've been suggested by some people at Hellmouth Sketchmeet to begin a SB because it's a good way to receive a feedback on my works...

Let's all meet on the Italian thread!!! Don't know what to do there, but sounds funny...

MetalMike You were one of the guys who gave me the advice to open a SB!!! It's quite useful actually. Comments like "I like this" "I like that" or "that's strange" or "the perspective is a bit wonky" help me understand what is right and what is wrong in my drawings...

    On with the update...
