    Novu's Sketchbook

This is my most recent set of images, a massive chunk of my sketch books over the last year have been used on university project work so these are the first few images that have been made without a specific reason or purpose. Some of the Uni project work is on my site if you wanna see that.

Hello there! I'm really diggin' your perspective skills! That's a skill I'm lacking in myself. As for your faces, you might wanna focus on those a little more. Really study the placements and relations of facial features in all angles and views.

    Keep it up!

Thanks, I was practicing perspective for quite a while there and just recently decided to give it a bit of a rest and make a few more face and body drawings. So hopefully I can fix a few problems I have with placement and proportion like you say.

    Thanks

Welcome to CA. I agree with Sky, your perspective is good. I do think you need to work on anatomy. But I'm sure you'll improve quickly, everyone will help if you let them here. Keep posting. Good work so far.

started practicing faces by doing a self portrait, sorry for the low quality, I don't have a scanner big enough and so had to use a camera.

Hey i like your digital paintings the ideas and perspectives are nice!
But i would experiment with different brushes to get some new results. You definetely got talent. i can see it in the perspectives. But youneed to work on colors and some detail. So i'd look up some color, shading tutorials. Like how light falls on spheres, cubes, and other primitives. But also the times of day wich all cause a different sort of light and also overcast and sunny enviremental light. Just look these things up and you will learn alot from it!

    Good luck & greetings

hi and welcome! as the others said, nice sense of perspective. you could enforce the perspective effect by working on line quality. do defined lines that underline the movement into space if that makes sense!defined lines will also help you when designing tech-stuff like robots. i like your sci-fi stuff with all those shapes. do them more precise and theyll kcik ass (mine at least) oh and yeah if you paint a robot like that blue one try to look at different materials and study how light is reflected by them. study car paint (glossy and reflective) and metals of all sort

Thanks for the comments guys, I'll try and take all that on board. I've been practicing painting IRL so hopefully I'll be able to learn to use my brushs better and maybe bring some of that across to photoshop. Thanks for the advice I really appreciate it.

been doing some portraits and also have a few ideas put together for the new DSG (was also trying to think of some good quote to put on the side of the sarcophagus):

I know it's been said here already but you seem to be very good when it comes to perspective. Keep it up man.

Back after a long bout of working on a graphic novel for Uni, turned out crap but hey I'd never did it before, was a nice experience. Also been following a bit of feng zhu's techniques.

Some cool stuff here! What everyone else already said (work on figures, faces, line quality, materials, general rendering) and for the love of God don't get stressed out or stop having fun. You will then be very very good.
