Lightbulb Book illustrations and other works

--- EDIT: Now I proclame this thread to my own !
Or simple, I am too lazy to open a new thread for every work, so I do it here

    For the start:
A book illustration for a korean publisher.
Done on PS in a little more than 2 weeks.
This was a really nice training and I think I have quite improved.
Still I hope in my next work I dont loose myself in details so much, so that I can work faster and keep a little more of the sketch look.

I want a cute little toad like him. From your illustrations alone he really seems like a lovable character. I agree that the colors are so rich and there is a lot of nice texture.

That's a great set of images you've got there. I don't think they're too detailed at all. The colours are fantastic.

I've never used PS like that myself, I'm impressed!

Did you come up with the layout as well? I can see where the text is going to go. Its quite organic with the art.

I like these illustrations. Very cheerful. Leaving that much white space is risky but you used it very effectively. Well done.

I dont know where to upload this one, so I use this thread to show other works as well.

I did this one today, the idea came from a small doodle in my sketch book.
At first it was just a "mass" and I tried to make something out of it and after some minutes the sketch was done and the "Hell-chicken" was born.

So today I wanted to do some personal work again and worked the sketch out.
I really like it, even though I had to stop myself from using too much 100% saturated colors ^^ Actually I am trying to get more method into my working process so that I can work faster and I think this one worked quite good.

PS: Curse you Laptop, I cant really say if the picture is too dark or not because of the Laptop-monitor.

    Time for some new things.
I am mainly focusing on natur and science illustration, so I try to get some off that into concept art combining both.
As you can see I like buffalos of all kinds... cape buffalos have a really characteristic face and for some reason it gave me a hell of trouble to catch it in the last picture. It was really troublesome. At some point it looked more like a horse or even a rabbit ^^° But it was fun to do, I worked really loose, experimenting with a lot of different brushes.

I try to get more routine and stile into my works, but thats difficult. Everytime I paint a picture, it looks totally different than the last one.

And I am experimenting a lot on my signature (just in the buffalo picture) Using just my insignes ME or writing the whole name... I always have trouble with that XD

There is a more finnished picture in the C&C section, but looking at it now... this sketch looks far better.

    @all: thanks you guys

Inspired by the ladies, ladies banner showing up above, I decided to try some more on faces.

Maybe I dont need to paint realistic faces, but I just wanted to try and see how far I get ^^

I am a Naruto fan so I just made a very quick Orochimaru-sketch. Was fun to do. At first I tried a Tsunade portrait, but no matter what I did it just didnt look right. I will try on her later again.

    Any advice ?

This Semester is as good as over, so I can show my work I made:

A cooperation between my school in germany, a korean (where I am for 1 semester - at the moment) and 2 others.
The task is to make a illustrated story about "love"

    Was fun to do:

A new picture. After a lot of buffalos and cows I now turned to horses. (Heard tha a good horse in a portfolio can bring you some jobs and I am on nature illustration anyway)
