Here's some stuff form today, between jobs. I HAVE TWO DAYS OFF THIS WEEK. That's better than my usual, NONE, so I'm excited. Plus I got an art buddy coming up. We're gonna fucking draw.

Ugh.

The plan was to study anatomy and make a Mortal Kombat character dunk at the same time (because I think it's HILARIOUS- I'm still gonna make one work out).

I chose a difficult angle, spent A LOT of time not giving up on the anatomy entirely, and then couldn't come through on the clothing. I used a photo of Kobe Bryant, so I tried Kano (his top outfit would work fine), but then when I got to the lower body I realized I'm gonna need to study some folds too.

Luckily... I've got a book all about that.

Looks like my friend is gonna MAKE me finish a full piece by the time he leaves her in the morning, Wednesday.

So, here's what I've done today. Lot of planning and setting up. This is important and I should really slow down and really THINK about the best course of action most often. All of this work is time saved later.

You see, that is not a bad idea. Not bad at all.
I was going insane about the first part of the game.
I liked the second and the third sequels also, but the
fourth was a big no-no for me.

Last painting looks good, interesting.
I feel sorry about the fact, that this huge
guy cannot abuse this gal on the right way,
cause she is just too small for him.
Maybe he could slowly cut her to pieces,
like a sausage as she screams in agonizing pain.

Last painting is good... love the colour shift from foreground to background. The lighting is really something. You've shown many improvement in that painting. I'm not sure what you mean by "too smoothly" (the colour blends, or... cuz I failed to see that ), but just watch your shape as you render, especially the small parts, I prefer his necklace jaggy and sharp like the previous b/w sketch, but that's your decision. Btw, his shoulder armour looks unsymmetrical, is that intentional?

Thanks guys! Here's what I've been up to lately. It's gonna be a little shaky as to whether I can finish the three pieces I need to finish (for the family... YIKES). I'm poor and I've got a few ideas that could go quickly that they'd like. The Cyclops is One of Them. The American Space Marine:

You have a much better understanding of value than me. Your stuff's getting there though, you'll be a pro in no time. The giant looks a little plain, maybe skulls on his waist, or a wrist band?

Oh I love the last painting especially. Makes me melt with the cool colour choices you've put used. Your wips and end product of that particular piece gives me an insight on some useful approach to digital pieces, so thanks for that! hahah learning from you instead (: I also find your studies, the lines pretty smooth an inspiring :3 Keep up the good work, I'll keep an eye on you

Plissken- yeah it's a cyclops. Well, i Hope it is. Maybe I do need to show the eye, or just make the hole smaller.

Bleo- thanks- I usually use a lot of warm colors. I'm trying to hold myself back and stay cool with this one.

I work in kitchens. I'm going to be trying to get professional illustration work, but I'm still working on improving.

Like multiple kitchens? Interesting. I ask because through your comments it seemed like you couldn't make art at work, and I was curious to see if you're in a similar situation as me. I work as a bartender in a restaurant and I'm dying to get out.
