    Coming out of the closet!

Ok here's a sculpt I recently completed of Jamie Thomas. It's in plastic now. The Base and the skateboard are still very rough. The resin needs to be cleaned up a bit and painted. And my 4 megapixel point&shoot needs to be tossed out. Ok that's enough excuses for now. FRONT SIDE SMITH GRIND BITCHES!!!

Thanks for the kind words. There's always room for improvement. I seriously do need a better camera. I hate the way that the crappy ones distort the image so much. Like you look at the photo and the hand is 2X bigger than the head. People will think I skipped all the proportion lessons in school! ROFL!!!

Great work - really really crisp.

Unfortunately the distortion is mostly perspective coming into effect because you're too close, so a better camera won't necessarily help that much. The trick I use is to zoom in as much as possible and move backwards until I get the shot I need. This flattens the perspective and sorts out most cases of big-hand syndrome

Thanks for the suggestion. The problem I've got is my camera is so crappy that if I back up and then zoom in, I lose detail. I'd really love to get a 10 megapixel dslr with a nice lens. Then I could take some decent pics. So who is gonna loan me 1000$???

IF the figure was standing up straight he'd measure 12" from his heel to the the top of his head. Yes it's getting painted.

That might be a light issue - your camera needs light to focus. Get outside
