Yo, i decided not to ass pat you this time.

I hope that i can offer a critique

I only have one thing i wanted to advice you on. That is ECONOMY.

Your work is great, and you already know how i feel about your growth (its phenomenal).

I feel that you are still lacking with your mark making. And it shows that you arnt pausing to think about each brush stroke. This shows in two ways: Colors that become flat and grayed, and distracting marks where there should be soft or transitions of value/color.

Try to establish DISTINCT edges. Alot of the work still seems vague.

So basically make bigger marks, simplify your values, and put more thought into exactly what you are putting down. I believe this will make your colors pop more and give more confidence to your rendering.

I think one of the problems is that you are to dependent on opacity settings. (ignore that if im wrong)... but do some paintings with it turned out. It will force you to understand exactly what is going on with color temperature and how it correlates to halftones.

(anyways, i know i need work in these areas and i hope that my critique helps you. im just passing on somethings that ive been told myself!... cheers!)

Love the moody dark atmosphere of your pieces. Something I'm working on as well and something I've always liked about Rembrandts work.

latest updates are great parsakoira although i agree with Aryeh on his crit, try to push your colors more and experiment with your edges. It might just be a time issue how long you want to spend on a sketch, would be nice to see you push your paintings further. Anywaaaays keep rockin mate!

    Post more shit.

Really like how consistent you are. Everything seems to stay above a certain level, I
think that is a real strong point.

Was looking back through some of your Chows....I really need to man up and start doing those to finish.

That is a cool process vid of the vagrant, great lighting and textures.

I have to agree with LtPlissken about your placement of eyes on your women, i think you're thinking too much of your ideal? Not that there's anything wrong with that, but more studies from life of different shaped features I think would benefit you at this stage in the game

You do this really neat thing on your faces with throwing really warm notes into cool painting and vice versa that makes 'em really sing. Thought I'd mention how cool that is to me, since when I try things like that, I get mud .

Here's a random crit out of nowhere for you! In the last couple of 3/4 view girl heads you've painted, the head's structure is a bit off. Try checking the centre eye/corner of mouth and base of nose/corner of eye proportions. The eyes tend to go a bit wide in comparison to the rest of the features. I think this is pretty much what LtPlissken said. I'd also perhaps find a bald guy (or gal for that matter) and check out the shape of the side of the head as well as the forehead. You seem to get there and go flat.

Peh.. anywho persnikiting over. You're doing some absolutely awesome work my dear.

Just to add to the swarm of comments, those latest paints are great.. I agree about tightening edges on the self portrait, direct our interest around. but that killer vagrant concept with the youtube is fantastic, very interesting to see your process of lines after that block in!

I can say all the usual things about the great execution and colour balance, but the Dinosaur Stripper on page 57 is the fucking balls. I had a hearty chuckle at that one, so thanks!
