I think your on the right track with this lastest solider painting. Nice simple story.

To add some more emphasis on the bomb maybe a slight amount of red in that area may bring it out some more? Not sure how that would look so give it a dab f you havnt already!

oooooh tralala, I've been staring at your dudeliness thread .gif for waaayyy to long not to have commented in here. I really dig your painting style a lot, good stuff. In that soldier piece, some of the mark making on the ground at the bottom is a bit distracting though. Cheers.

i love sooo much this little house!!!!!!!!!!!you need more bonus for works like these
you and your enviros!!!I think your blocking of colors etc is better than the jungle piece because it gives a more tactile surface with better brushtroke or something. The jungle have your nice illuminance style but maybe misses some very focus regions to keep the eye a little more?

Little house on the rock looks good with the eye going to the house, and it pops out nicelly, and takes your eye.

With the jungle, I think the you've accomplised a wet, swampy feeling in it, and the palette, I think, looks good. However, I think you need to come up with something to move the eyearound and catch the focus like in the house image. Let it be color, texture, sharpness, reflextivity, or whatever, I belive there's an endless amount of opportunities here, and you should go with the one that you feel right.

Nice work, I help you a bit on your progress to the fifth star..

*btw, nice effort on the steampunkguy. It paid off, looks great!

Was wondering where you went – but those big projects explain things! Really nice concept on the giant. Wonderful details and design. I can’t shake the feeling he does not quite blend in with the environment,. It really looks like an arctic, snowy environment, but how big are those rocks exactly? Having trouble figuring out the scale. Or perhaps it’s the lighting on the giant himself. The warm light source is behind him, but his front seems lit up. You can argue it’s the snow, but at that size? Lastly from looking at the Wip Gif (nice to add!); seems the snow environment was not part of the original plan (correct me when wrong). Adding this late in the process can be troublesome.
I like him a lot as a character though, to lighten up this seemingly critical comment….

Those speedpaints in 727 and 733 are amazing – especially the portraits. I don’t get how you produce a portrait in such a timespan, considering how good the mood and character are. So loose!

I’m sure you’re familiar with the speedpainting threads at Sijun? If not, I think you'll like it.

    Keep it going!
