havnt used photoshop at all as I do not have a full version of it, but thought I'd play around with it as it definately has its positives!

Used some custom brushes from m@ which was new thing to me, so it was a small learning experience!

You have here some very nice things! You need to work on perspectives and proportions. I like how you work with color!
Keep it up and post more!

Mepp I agree, thank you for pointing that out. I've been struggling with both perspective and proportions for awhile now, and it really kills alot of work

Very nice start here, as others have said just work on perspective and proportion. For me at least the two come hand in hand, as you progress on one you'll progress on the other. You might even practice something completely unrelated, like hands, and find your whole figure improves.

wow, color is really your strength but some of your work need a bit more contrast (darker color). You also need to keep practicing your anatomy and proportions. Keep up the good work and keep drawing and painting every day and you'll de a bit better every day ! Definetly want to see more of your works !

Hey, thanks for stopping by my sketchbook. You definately have some nice stuff in here. You mentioned a few posts up about struggling with perspective and proportions. I'm sure u already know but that stuff just comes with time, and drawing from life (or photos if life isn't available). I also hear a lot of people say that drawing from other artists work (really good artists only) helps if an actual figure is hard to find. I really like these:

    http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...0&d=1208501262

    http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...4&d=1208501721

The composition on all of them is really working. I think theyre some of your nicest pieces.
Anyway, keep it up, you have a great sketchbook started here. cheers'

Theres some good stuff up there.
Your sense of colour is good, but you should definitely practice proportions on your characters.

    Echo, echo, echo...

Good looking sketchbook, there are a lot of good studies in here. You've got a killer knack for color and composition. Proportions and perspective need work. Copying master paintings/sketches can help with that, as well as life drawing. However, what's been helping me a lot lately with my figures has not been lengthy studio session figure drawing but rather snap gesture drawing on the street, no longer than 30 seconds per figure (even if they sit still for longer than that, which they rarely do!).

Sorry if any of that was redundant. Keep going!

yeah your color and composition is looking pretty nice. I like the overall movement and your painting ATTITUDE is awesome. Messy as shit, but at the same time together.

I'm just feeling you've got some anatomical issues that can't be ignored. Try to work on that some, because your stuff has great potential.

Thanks all! I havn't really gotten much comments of any sort on my drawings before, so you are being a huge help!

The head of my tablet pen is pretty darn short right now and I've lost the spares, got to keep the pen in a stand up position

I think I wont do much digital untill I get some pen tops, so it's time to do something useful, like gestures and anatomy

Hey man I see lots of potential there so keep up the good work! I'd say work on your pencil sketches and foundation works more, as they are the basis of everything etc. Study proportion, gesture (as some of your figures seem to lack) But I can feel the 'weight' of some of your figures already, so that's a good sign.

Hey, thanks for dropping by my book! Ton's of improvement just from your first post to now. I agree with what many have said - your colors are looking great but your proportions need attention. Drawing from life is the best way to learn proportions and accuracy when drawing or painting the body! Studies from artists like loomis are good as well, but if you really want to rocket your drawing abilities I recomend finding a place to do life drawing from models.

Glad you're pursuing your dream of becoming an artist. Keep up the hard work and it will become a reality!

    xinleh, fishspawn:

Thanks! I drew a 90-45 second poses from pose maniacs yesterday for a few hours, and realized how I am lacking routine in drawing the human body. At first I couldnt really do any confident lines and everything looked terrible, but I noticed that after a few hours I had gotten some routine. I am planning on doing the same thing today again, and maybe study hands and feet a bit!

I tried getting accustomed with photoshop a bit, I still do not feel at all comfortable with it. I'm not used to the color picker and I like to roll 360's with the images quite a bit in painter!

No pen tips today, not yet anyway

This image reminds me of someone elses, if you happen to know whos, please tell me.

hey thanks for checking out my sketchbook. i like alot of your painted works there's some good atmoshere in them, although i do agree with proportions and perspective a tip from me would be walk away from your drawing or painting for a while then come back to it fresh and you should see those errors. anyway big improvements are going on and live the dream.

no problem matty, was a pleasure checking out you sb!

About proportions and anatomy I just finished filling the sketchbook with 45-60 from pose maniacs, with a few anatomy studies in there concerning feet and arms, so hopefuly that will help me do some longer, and more accurate sketches on the human body, which I am planning on doing starting today!

I'll scan a few sketches along with the longer ones which I hope to be doing today, for now I'll put in an old digital so it wont be all text.

This is my first mecha, it has a 'nice' amount of errors, but part of them are because I was alot less experienced when I did this. I drew it sometime early this year. Consider it just something from along the trip

Great SB here. Yes, there are some issues with the proportions of your human figures, but the colors, the textures and your brush use are really awesome.
And posemaniacs is a great start to learn anatomy.

Thanks for dropping by my SB You're colors are your strong point right now! You're not afraid of them, and you vary them, so that's cool! I'm gonna join the anatomy-chorus, though... hehe.. that'll help the general look of your characters, and help out on your poses and such as well Saw mentler stopped by here, you can check out his stuff, he's got like a ton of anatomy studies and notes on here, so do a search on his username

    Keep rockin'!
