    IT has begun!

Okay, so I've been kind of here and there with my personal direction lately. I finally feel like I'm making some headway in my digital stuff (plenty of room for growth though), but I've been kind of working with out aim. SO, I sat down and did the organizing I need to complete what really matters, a commercial portfolio.

SO, here is my plan of action, if you have any suggestions or alterations feel free to throw me a line:

    Character: 5 pages
    1. Concept Sheet: 4x4 (Four Characters with four variations)
    2. Fully Rendered Historical Character *
    3. Fully Rendered Sci-Fi Character *
    4. Fully Rendered Fantasy Character *
    5. Fully Rendered Horror Character *

    * Front, Side, Back, Color, Chosen from Concept Sheet

    Environment: 5 Pages
    1. Thumbnail Sheet: 4x4 (Four Drastically Different Climates with four variations, each with architectural elements included)
    2. Urban
    3. Forest
    4. Arctic
    5. Subterranean

    Creature: 5 Pages
    1. Concept Sheet: 4x4 (Four Creatures with four variations)
    2. Subject: Air
    3. Subject: Water
    4. Subject: Earth
    5. Subject: Fire

    Weapons & Vehicles: 2 Pages
    1. Weapon Sheet: Pierce, Blunt, Slash, Burn
    2. Vehicle Sheet: Air, Ground, Water

    Finished Work:4 Pages
1-4: Using all previous work combine concepts into four finished scenes with character, environment, creature, vehicle, weapon, etc.

Whoa....that's a lot of work. Well, let's get to cracking.
    Character Sheet in progress.

Love your painting style. Namor looks amazing. Your bogeyman is great, I love his expression and the red halo. Love the color choices as well. I'm not too sure about the perspective/foreshortening on the girl at the moment...her head seems quite large in relation to the rest of her body. Can't wait to see the finished product.

    LOrin-thanks, I'll need it.

IndigoSummers- Yeah, I was having problems keeping her childlike and not teenager...so the enlarged head kept her a bit younger..I've posted the final, but I'll definitely tweak it until it's portfolio worthy.

Jesus Food- Definitely working on getting away from that. My problem is I'm still pretty new to Illustration so I'm relying on things I can do easily with my current skill set. My next chow I am going to make it a point to get away from the frontal pose.

danlambert-I think we'll be friends just because you have Lamb in your name.

Mischeviouslittleelf-Hey thanks, I've taken about as far as I can in the time limit. I'd still like to fix some buggy things and play with texture...but alas next weeks CHoW is up already...time to get crackin'.

This week I'm going to work on doing a concept sheet for CHoW. Going to do a few roughs of some of the Egyptian "Gods" then pick one to do a full sheet on.

This first rough is Geb, the Earth God. Pictured him as being a cartographer and ecologist for the envoy.

LOVE those designs....really cool. Wish I had that kind of graphic design skill. 2nd one is my fave...I like the "coat of arms" look.

Your face character sheet for the latest chow looks really good. Makes me want to do one! Also, I really like how you have planned out your portfolio. Especially how everything has a theme. Really got me thinking about being more organized myself. Lookin good! =) Can't wait to see what you do next.

Indigo- Hey, thanks for the encouragement! Feel free to use the portfolio setup that I organized if it helps. CHoW has really helped motivate me with the first section.
