Wow!
Mark-
Beefy- Colors! FUCK YEAH!
Shadow- !!!!
Bleh, kickin' out another sheet of sketches.

Another from the second culture for my IP project. Direct color again, still kickin' myself in the ass for not doing this with the other batch of design sheets. These are all unrefined, but I have a certain number I want to hit before I start polishing them.
Anyways, these three make up the Godsblood Forge, Journeyman Baldric of Paynewood, Apprentice Gerold "Spit" Godsblood X, and Master Gerold Godsblood IX. Yes, I'm a big dork and am writing up some lore for my project.

what I was wondering is that can't you just give them some random poses instead of making a kind a of front look for a character sheet, or are you doing it for a reason ?
And again love the colors![]()
Great designs, apply some colors I'm sure it'll turn out great!![]()
Like others have said, love the designs! The Three Brothers concept is really well executed so far.
Looking forward to seeing more!

Mark- I was thinking of these as being strictly design studies, so I chose a very neutral pose for my paper doll base. I want to take a few of them and create some turn-arounds for modelling, so this kind of takes care of 1/3 of the work. I will use these designs to do some more illustration style character pieces though. Thanks for dropping some concern!
Jovian- Thanks! I can't wait to get these lookin' right and in my portfolio.
LastGen-
Chips- Thanks for dropping a line! This IP project is taking on a life of its own so expect lots more.
stange purple- Thanks!
Progress shots on my first four designs. Trying to stay Eastern for these. I'm leaning heavy on some cliches, but I'm slowly trying to tweak and push them. Most of the major shapes have been identified, but I still am having to find ways to break them up in an interesting fashion.

Scribble scrabble.
I still have 5 more sheets to initialize before I start cleaning up everything.
Quick shape block-ins.

great stuff
M
Your concepts, colors and how you build up the drawings is incredible. I love how you keep your lines very loose, yet maintain perfect control over shapes, values and color at all times? Beautiful stuff!
yo dude! some insane character ideations being churned out in here! love the colors, and designs too!! not too cluttered, just crisp and clean ideas. great colors too. keep them coming! -are you planning on refining a select few of these?

M- Thanks! That's a huge compliment from such a talented artist!
Blackbridge- Thanks! I really try to make my marks matter, unfortunately I tend to bomb the structure and have to do a lot of clean up when it comes to that.
Nicky- Thanks man, I plan on cleaning them all up but I will do turn-arounds of a few of them, along with some more illustration style pieces.

ArtKing- Will do!
A small update on my first sheet from my last post. I'll work on finishing this one while I sketch out the last five design sheets.
These are some prototypes for three different MA masters. I might do some variations on the one I choose to do a turn around for:

Decided to take Markus' advice, so I've got a sheet and posed illustration going at the same time. Just working with frontal poses, so not a major rework really.
Anways, quick update.

I much prefer them with the background. Without they are cardboard cut-outs. I know you need to show the detail for them to to be worked on, but there's no side view yet.
I agree, the background makes this piece even better. I like where you are going with this!
Great color-suit-designs!
Black-Spot, Blackbridge, and Fast Art- Thanks for the constructive criticism and words of encouragement! I definitely see these as not being strong for overall illustration work.
Well, it has been quite some time since my last update. During the absence, I have managed to move my family to a new town, and I will be painting full-time very soon, which I'm super stoked about! I had a nice vacation from the internet and computer, so I've only just now picked up where I left off. I can definitely see some proportion issues now that I have some distance from the work, to much focus on the head/face is attributing to that I think. It's kind of slow going though, my laptop needs a new battery.
BTW, I think the star ranking thing is kinda silly, but whoever one-starred me, you could have at least left some constructive criticism so I could improve a bit.
Anyways, update:

ooooh another great update! I like the the grey designs the most, the proportions seem to be good on there, all the other ones seem to have a little bit long legs, but thats an easy fix. Keep it up man, 5*![]()
Ooo cool designs! love that middle dude with the beard on the last group! great stuff
Looking great, man! More!
oh wow! You've inspired me yet again, sir! More, I want to see more
Are you sure you don't want to do theatre costume design? That's a compliment btw.
Fetsch- Thanks V! I'll be sure to tweak those legs a little. I hope life and work are treating you well!
CONtra- Thanks!!!
SS- THanks for dropping some encouragement!
Blackbridge- Thanks, I hope your current cast drawing is going well, and thanks for dropping the name of the cast's sculptor
Black Spot- That's a huge compliment! I think that would rock, I love theater! If I could sew/construct, I would seriously consider that. Thanks for dropping by! BTW, I got to see your animation, awesome!
Finally replaced my laptop battery, so digital work is finally back up to speed.
Quick update on an earlier sketch.

Daily Update:
So this is my compilation of "to complete" pieces for September. Aside from these, I think I need to throw in two narrative illustrations, then I'm going to start trying to dig up some work. I've got a more character art that I want to complete, but I'm pretty sure after I finish these I need to do some environments and ID stuff. Any suggestions or feedback are welcome.
If I'm lucky, I should start getting some commissions in October...hopefully.

Sewing isn't that hard - my brother taught himself and fur lined leather jackets from coats found in jumble sales. He's a biker. You only need a couple of lessons on the basics and you'll be making this stuff for real.
Wait until you have kids and they demand you make something for tomorrow.
