I feel like I'm slowly beginning to grasp landscape a little bit. Although I'm not so sure on the results of this one. . Working out the grayscale first definitely helps shit tons.

Ok, I swear this is the last you will see of this piece EVAR.
I decided to finish this in any way possible despite not liking the complete and total lack of cohesion in it.

And thanks to all the folks that gave me some advice for it in the critique center. You guys were amazingly helpful!

An imagined landscape. I think I really need to start thinking of a way on how to study how light works in a larger setting.

Sorry for the lack of activity lately. I have been working landscapes and getting a solid base down for my web comic. I have made a good bit of progress on that.
Although, on a somewhat unrelated note, I made this over the last couple of days and learned a good bit about work flow and textures in the process. I wanted to make a map that looked like a painted paper map. Similar to the Dragon Age: Origins map. That one was pretty sweeet.

This one's not quite as eloquent, but it's a big step up from where I was.
I'll probably have a couple of landscapes up tomorrow.

It being more than a few days since my last post aside, I have been working quite a bit on this new map. After reading some things on Holly Lisle's blog about writing and how she used map making as a writing tool, I got a little more interested in the narrative quality that they can have. Not to mention that the maps she posted were way more interesting than mine because of that factor all by itself. So, I've been trying to work on narrative in this. Still a WIP, but it's getting there. I'll upload a larger version when it's done.



Other than that, I'm still working on landscapes. I wanted to work on managing my textures and space. Still needs work.

A quick Bouguereau copy and other nonsense. I've also been looking at Levitan lately. I definitely recommend him to anyone who hasn't seen his work yet. He's a does beautiful landscape paintings.


Also, I need to learn how to draw faster.

Long time no see, eh? So, I took a bit of a break to learn some language so I'm not completely lost all of the time. Still a majority of the time, but not as much. Anyways, at the behest of my (amazing) friends, I'm back into the habit of doing art regularly. Not at all the pace I used to keep, but a pace none-the-less. At this point, I want to update this about once a week. Here's a bit of old stuff, plus some recent things from this weekend and last weekend.
