Hideyoshi - oh, preview thumb works again :>

    Alright, new book starting here!

Haven't been so active on conceptart.org recently, but I figured this is still one of the best places for improving in heaps.
Well, I feel I kinda lack significant progress these days/feel like stagnating and drained out, so I want to get back on track, do more sketching, painting etc. and get in touch with the community again...
Having a strong environment like this will only help...or so I hope

Wanna keep it reduced to posting mainly sketches and speedpaintings, also some animation experiments if you don't mind...

    Hey Hideyoshi,

You know I always thought your work was great when I first saw it on Da. Hehe...is that a animation done on the DS? Like those speedies and sketches and seeing the character concepts. I especially like the postcard studies. Keep doing those.

Alright, Just wanted to throw in my two cents. One thing you really got down for the most part is the industrial side of environments. The cityscapes and gritty alleyways and subways. I'd like to maybe see you try
environments outside of those zones. I'm talking about things with green in it or more organic places. Forests, swamplands, snowy mountain tops...you name it...just places far from the cities. I think it could seriously propel your environments to pure awesomeness if you break those safe areas...your work already rocks but if your looking to push it further it could help.

Amazing start to your new SB, I am totally humbled by your work man. I have a quirk question though. I have noticed not just in your work but many other artists seam to flip their final work horizontally for some reason. I just always wondered why, seeing you did it to your plane I was hope you could shed some light on this for my uneducated...ness.

I love it! Very nice paintings and the animation is good, too!
I like the picture of the pilots with the sunset, very realistic.
The plane and the steps are great also for learning ...

    Thanks,

Adorable work. To say so much with so little lines and strokes. Theres a lot to learn for me about abstraction when looking at those speedies

    Oooh, heya, thanks everyone!!

    Bushido: thanks! Akira FTW!

    c@s: thx, man!

Oranje Joe: Yeah, wanna post more sketchy stuff here! And feathers rule!

frog: whoa, you think so? I always think I suck at hands...

Idiot: heya, dude! wassup? Cool to see you round here!

drewfarr: thanks, might do some more Chinese speedies!

remmy: thanks! Wow, no offence, it's interesting that there are still people you can tell about that horizontal flip thing and look all cool and wise-a$$
Nah, seriously, you simply get a fresh view for the image and you're able to spot errors, compositional flaws etc. Try it! A lot of artists indeed do so!

matejkovacic: thank you! Glad you like the animation and could get something out of the WIPs!

    sjuskadur: thanks kindly!

Elz: thanks! I don't want to fill this SB with final eyecandy paintings for now... Just reducing it to sketches. If I work on something big, I might post WIPs and the final image in the end, though

Kamikaye: hey, danke! Abstraction is key!

    ninjacat11: thank you!

Chupacabra: yo, Khan! Wie gehts! Hau rein! Man schreibt sich!

here is one hellish boy that took 35 mins. and a suit concept I forgot before. It's for an animation project...

Hey I really like your speed painting style and the heavy camera angles and perspective and the composition looks really good to me as well. Those are definitely your strongest areas. That little animation is wicked!

    Let's see some more stuff!
