these are absolutely great, especially the first one, is it just how you scanned/photographed it that it looks like its 2 pieces put together?

hey all, thx for stopping by...

LM: heya, shut up I suck. Like do what with the head?

R_M: thanks man, you're right, I DO need to post more. In fact, I need to draw way more, for that matter. I need to use "posting" as inspiration to draw like I used to.

    S13: thx for posting...

Vader: thx hopefully it'll still look good once it's finished.

    siskol: thx, me too hehe...

Main Loop: Thanks man, it was scanned in two pieces and I didn't take the time to make it look otherwise :p

peace out - I'll see if I can't keep this one going by adding more sketches I do in the next few days. Or hell maybe I should start a sketchbook here...

    aloha-

Deth- hey bro, thanks. Yea the first one is kinda' big, it's done on a 22 inch piece of paper. She's just the main figure. So yea it was scanned in sections. I didn't clean it up cuz, well, I'm lazy :p I'll keep posting as I go.

2Cool- Thank you sir :p I'm a big fan of that one too cuz it came out just the way I wanted (I think).

SaRc- wow dude a kress folder? Geez I'm flattered :o Thanks for stopping by.

Rock- No I hardly ever color them, cuz I SUCK at it. I really, really need to start practicing that. You bring up a good point about my stuff, it's always b/w sketches. I really need to change that. Color one if you want to, I'd be honored.

I.was.ink- Thank you bro. I'm glad you said that, cuz one of the things I *try* to consider is originality. Not that all my stuffs super-original all the time, but I know it's a valuable skill/look to have. I think everyone should keep that in mind, actually. Oh and congrats on Art Center!!! :chug:

Shawn- Thx, about 22 inches high, but that scan isn't full size, probly 14 inches?

Aidan- Thx, you probly haven't, see above statement :p I really need to start coloring more and just face the awkward sucky stages...

Red- Damn thanks man. I'm flattered, I hope they give you ideas or whatever..!

Once again thanks a ton all. I'm glad coloring came up cuz it's something I've been thinking about and I know I need to just bite the bullet and start practicing. Having the reminder come from other people makes it more of a reality, or something. :chug:

K here's a WIP I'm putting in here cuz I don't want to start another thread. Hope that's cool with admins...

I agree with foster. Things as simple as the staircase, and the lanterns give a nice sense of depth. You rock man!

Jon - wow, thanks for posting man. I'm a little dumbfounded to tell you the truth. I know you'd like me to be casual about getting a compliment from you cuz you're "just a normal guy" and everything, hehe - but it means a lot to me for you to say something so nice here. If you keep it up I'm not gonna' be able to hate my own stuff as much :p

I.was - Thanks a lot dude, hehe. I really like sculptural drawings, and I guess some of that came thru here. Glad you likey

Update - I suck at coloring, or at least it's the thing I'm least experienced at. I'm guessing you'll be able to see that here, hehe. I think the blue lighting needs a little more love and fiddling to be realistic, so that and a bit more work on bground and I'm done. If anyone wants to do a paint-over PLEASE go ahead, I need all the help I can get. Any suggestions? I want to keep it real murky and dark, so keep that in mind:

Hah, yes very nice. With the first colouring i was afraid you would lose the detail, but the new oneI think is great.
The light your fairy (looks like a fairy but with all these mythical creatures, you may argue otherwise) gives off really makes it dramatic, i love the way it reflects of the rock walls.
You might wanna light up the lanterns in the back but only with really dull colours, maybe like the eyes of the guy on the far right.

Stop talkin this shit man. Love the coloring as well as your pencils. The color choices are great.
Maybe you could try, how the goblins would look with the same eye color. Dunno, maybe it would be too equably but it bothered me at first glance.

    hey guys, thanks for posting.

Red- I totally agree about the lanterns in the back. I added a faint green hue coming off of them, all misty and eery like. Too bad no one will ever see it tho, my roommate accidentally copied over this file! :bash: Hehe, it's a bummer but oh well, only took me a day. I still have the drawing scanned but I'm too defeated to get back to it right away...

Aidan - Thanks man, even tho I don't believe you haha. I'll keep trying, believe me. Glad you like it.

nick - thanks bro, always good to get a "wow"

skrubbles - nice name, and thanks for stopping to say something

defcom - again, nice name. Real glad you like the colors as well as the lines, it's my weakspot :p

MindCandy - I'm flattered. Thanks man. I thought the second sketch was booty but maybe not?

Right on yallz, see ya next post.
