Alright, so I'm tryin' to create a "Count" character, not so much typical. A debonair aura, as well as a dangerous appeal? Kinda like, women wanna jump his bones, but he might eat your spine because you did the wrong thing.![]()

What is a man!? (Bad Castilvania joke...)
Ok a few crits before i pass out, The chest obviously needs more rendering its all sketchy like, and the nose has strange edges that make it look kinda just attached to the face, not part of it. Ah and the eye on the right side of the picture appears like it is looking up more than the one on the left side making him look ever so slightly lazy eyed
Good luck because overall i love this one.
really centered,
think of main shadow shapes, learn about cast shadows vs form shadows, and how they work on the face.
"A miserable pile of secrets!"
Heh.
But anyhow, the calmness of the lower part his face definitely seems at odds with his chaotic upswept hair and furrowed brow. Not sure if this is intentional, and it's not a bad thing but rather something to be aware of if you weren't already.
-My work can be found at my local directory thread.
Awesome, thanks for the crits guys! Mmm, Afterthought, could you give me some pointers on the shadows? Cast vs Form? Or maybe, a specific example? Thanks!

Go all out dark on the shadows. This picture begs dark and brooding. Huge Chiaroscuro fan right here. The beard should be more random. Facial hair never has a set hairline, even with a groomed beard, it is should be faded into it, or a very cared beard (search google or photobucket for ideas)
Besides obviously rendering the torso more, show the collar flair, so you see the depth around his would-be neck, observing shadow so you can tell that it's a huge collar.
Love the collar of the eyes!
