there's some resemblance, not all that much though.

I guess it's a sort of evil smurf.
It's pretty late, and I 've been drawing all day

This one worked out great, the old startled guy :p

This was an excercise that was in my syllabus of sketching and I felt like doing it.
These are draw over's of all the main plains on the face.
Did this fairly quick in PS & learned quite a bit doing it.
I can recommend it

No real ressemblence.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong
I measured more than usual, used the system >_>
pfff

Just a doodle..

Calm down, scribble less. The time you are spending on doing a fairly messy shading job could be used on improving the proportions of your portraits.
Do you draw them in one go? If you do so, it could be worthwhile to take a break and then come back and continue. It ought to be easier to spot mistakes. Mirroring the image will also help on spotting stuff that isn't quite where it's supposed to be.
Try and concentrate a little more on negative shapes, it's easier to get them right than the actual object, and consider the shape of these objects - it's your face (isn't it?), so you can touch it and feel how it is a 3d object. For example right now your eyes seem very large and a little too much symbol like, not like real eyes, round objects inside eyesockets.
The plane practice should help, also a little anatomy information could aid as well, just to remember that there's a whole lot of stuff in the face that you need to observe.
Maybe that's a little too unclear... There are a good few exercises for being able to see more accurately - Betty Edward's book "Drawing on the Right side of the brain" probably containing the most relaxed versions of said exercises... might be worth a quick look, I don't know.
Thank you for your comment dmitri
I'll try to slow down :-p
I don't really measure enough either.
I should really, before I start to shade, really compare my drawing to the original.
Anyway, thank you for taking the time to comment.
Here's another.
It should be Ghandi.
Edit, sorry about the crappy quality :/
I'll take another picture in the sun tomorrow...
EDIT2: there we go, much better.

Desmond Tutu, worked out quite well.
Decided to focus more on a proper construction & less on shading.
Turned out to be a good choice.

A fairly decent gorilla
I suppose one of these days I'll have to try & take one of these drawings a little further...
35 mins on this one

Just practicing my skintones, trying to find a good system to get good quality digitally.

Hooray for quality mobile phones <_<

For a friend.
Doubt he'll be happy though, but meh, I learned a lot from this one
Next step construction!

Back to basics today.
I understand cubes, I have trouble with cilinders though :/

Just a classic speed painting today
nothing original, but I just felt like doodling

irliekninjaz: thanks
Must be the first positive comment I've gotten
Here's some stuff I did for my exam of sketching.
I failed it. I'm thinking it's a combination of inaccurate measuring & composition that made me fail it. They're supposed to be study pages...
Varied techniques: pencil, line marker, Tria markers, watercolor, ballpoint pen..
upside down face

Just a little speedpaint today.
I should probably stop using Photoshop tricks to make it look fancier
some stuff for school.
Applied cubes & cilinders
& some text roughsketching
wooptidoo >_<

Mooi schetsboek hoor! Keep up your work!
Great contrast of smooth lines and drawing.
Thanks for the compliment Chane
Here's something else, has a sort of catwalk feel to it.
Don't really feel like making a background just yet.
