Well, it’s about time I showed you guys that I do more than troll around the lobby. Ok, I do that as well, but here’s proof that its not the only thing that I do.

Hey, great start here. I like the first few with the medieval infantry/undead theme. Nice work there, nice movement and your skeletons are great![]()
Finally! A SketchBook from you!
The skeleton with the double scythes looks really cool.
Hope to see more anatomy studies though.
I like how you manage to keep your simple sketches so expressive. The pirate-gremlin thing is fun too.
some old ones, but I don't have access to a model at the moment (and it seems weird to ask my sister to pose nude) so I'm posting this to show that I have done a lot of life drawing.
Hey, you got a nice start here. Digg the grayscale marker-stuff. It'd be cool if you'd stop by my SB and give me some pointers. Keep up the good work!
Nice stuff here. Those marker drawings are great and I'm digging the life drawings in your last post too.
Post more!
Just a couple new ones today. Hope to have more tomorro.
a few finished pics. They are a bit older, but I haven't had the opportunity to bring any of my work to a finish recently. I'm currently trying to work on a finished peice, but the going is slow with more pressing matters for the time being. Once its done though I will post it.
I like your stuff, especially alot of the first ones posted which have several figures in them. They have a real classical feeling to them. The last two are promising as well.
As for crits I'd say just keep drawing and maybe try to vary your lines more for more depth. Keep it up man.
SSG 37
lovely figureworks...
cool scythe skeleton, man!
Some images don't show up but that's from my end
WELCOME!!!!!
Great work. I have only had a skim through, though I will be back with more in depth comments!
Love the marker work, I have about 100 markers but hardly use them...this makes me want to...
Hi P.Coene... really like the destroyed cathedral, your scetches are full of dynamic! You should develop your medieval style of drawing hehe... work more on body anatomy! Keep going!

Hi, welcome to the SSG! I like the theme with the knights and the undead creatures. Looks like you have some background there. The post with the live drawings is wonderful. Yeah the skeleton with the two sickles is... sick! In a good way.
I like how you painted those little pikemen.
Realy great stuff! Your sketches have a lot of life to them. I specially like the pen and marker ones. I want to see more undead!!
Um, thanks, but if you are referring to the cathedral one those were photos. That particular one was going for a matte painting look, so for the chars I photographed myself and 3 of my friends in costume over and over again in different poses. The only wristwork in that piece was a few lighting effects and making the transitions between the photo pieces seem more natural.
A few new ones, I really need to update more often.
Your marker work is excellent.
Good sketches... I'd like to see some (more?) finished work.
Cheers.
Love the last one... okay, but the marker drawings are superb! keep at it! love the hobo v zombies one in particular![]()
~Woao, the Grey shadow makes it more realistic, the details are good, and also you are pretty good drawing old people, they can be quite hard because of the wrinkles,
The details of the cloths are great, you can really give the folders expression
The backgrounds are marvelous congratz
It had to be posted
Great to see so many studies for one (or a series) of pieces.
Loved the skeletal warrior pic and the "I can't draw" made me laugh. I usually just rip my pages out!
Look forward to seeing more.
my sketches here... http://conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=92997

a few thumbnail compositional studies.
Cool Sketchbook Peter, those last thumbs look inspiring and great. Your battleposes look alright.
Woao that's really nice
they look kinda off a storyboard

Well, I'm banned from te lounge currently, which kind of sucks. I mean, I understand the banning and all, though I think that anyone whose ideas are as unpopular as mine would probably act the same way after a while.
The funny thing though is that I had already decided to drop replying to the political threads. I felt that my imput on the anime/manga one was actually insightful, as I have been somewhat of an anime fan for a while now and active enough in the anime fandome to know that there are some aspects of it that wouldn't jive with this site. Its weird when you think about things... I was hoping that somebody saw what I was saying, saw that I wouldn't back down, and maybe thought that if someone was that passionate about those things that maybe the idea was worth looking into, rather than being something where you had to find every reason to shoot it down.
I know everyone says to draw more, but honestly, drawing for the sake of drawing has gotten stale. I've but so much effort into trying to reach what seemed to be a pro level, and from most of the feedback I've gotten my work is hirable and I keep getting messages of "we'll contact you when we get a project" which, granted, is better than "we loved your portfolio but we found someone whose resume showed the experience we wanted." I want to draw for something where I know my ideas are going to be something more than a forgotten picture on a website. I've done it before, I've worked on images for amusement parks and album covers, and I know I can do so much more than that.
I'm going to miss the thread about comic-con. If any of you guys who are going want to meet up with an asshole who is banned from the lounge then I guess I can still get PMs. Also going to miss having someplace to vent about nothing and everything while checking between the CA job boards, creativeheads.net, and craigslist.
BTW, Illy, if you are reading this I'm not sure how long the ban is gonna last, so you might have to wait for the pics from comic con.
I honestly don't think this ban is what I need. I don't know what I need, maybe its just a feeling of belonging somewhere, maybe its just hope that I have a chance. Heck, hope that my Dad doesn't kick me out of the house for not having a job the same way that he is currently kicking out my younger brother.
I suppose I'm to the point of this where I start listing random/semi-related thoughts untill I notice that I'm doing so and draw the post to a close. Pillows make really lame punching bags. I've noticed that the more I want to be liked the more I act like an ass. I wounder if thats some sort of psychosis? I think living with my parents sucks my inspiration dry. I liked living in LA. If I don't like humanity its only because I'm a part of it. "Sweeny Todd" makes some really great philosophical points. Well, it looks like I'm rambling, I better draw this thing to a close.
Oh well, sleep will be nice untill I have to wake up.
Sorry you got banned from the lounge.
Maybe you can spend your week drawing instead of being down about not drawing as well as you want to.
there's only one way you can get to that level. :]

The problem isn't the abilty, at least, I don't think so. I hope I'm not being a Manky about this, but I really think my problems with getting work come from a shortage of experience in my resume as well as a bit of a lull in the industry.
The problems that I am having with my work is in coming up with good ideas, which is not really what I've been trained to do anyways. I mean, "medieval guys vs. zombies;" it sounds like something out of a lame "B" flick. but then what do I draw without ideas? Doodles that don't go anywhere because I can't think of what I want to do with them.
How about reading some fantasy fiction? (edit - or some serious history!). The sort of stuff you might end up concepting if it were turned into a "major motion picture" or a game? Better use of time than getting caught up in arguments in the Lounge. (Remember also that some of the people who might be eventually giving you those jobs may well be reading here - you need to make sure that your reputation is as good as possible, not only in terms of the quality of the work, but also in terms of personal rep).
You draw very well. How are your traditional painting skills (oil/acrylic)? Working on them helps digital skills (and with your drawing skills, could also open up another career path into fine art)
