hi, took a peek trough your book , and i must say, copying photos won't take you anywhere , trait still life , draw/paint from life what ever you can get you hands on ... its a good exercise
no i find the colors myself so that ill actually learn color. i have figure drawing classes but i work from photos when i dont have class.
i just found out that once again my monitor had whacked out color and brightness.i always wondered why my friends had such negative reactions to some of the colors i used. i find out today my brightness was so high that areas that were black to my friends had brighter colors to me. I used that thx optimizer so hopefully everything is better now. im going to post below what i was seeing and what you guys saw.
this is what i was seeing
this is what you guys were
just started to read andrew loomis's chapter on color...don't know why i haven't before anyways i feel like i've learned alot even in the small ammount ive read so far. Ive been also looking through idiot apathy's and bumskee's sketchbook and been enjoying what i've seen. i was inspired so i did this with what ive learned so far.

this is the first thing ive done in a long time that ive actually enjoyed creating.
been painting my recent sketch. trying to get a painterly feel(if thats a word)
still a w.i.p
I like how you have so much different in here! You try many things, and that's good. You are good at drawing what you see! One of my favourites is the king in post #71.
Keep it up! I hope more people will come here and see your art.
I have to say, you are progressing fast and your lines and colors are lookin good.
Keep it up
