You are such an inspiration King' ! Really, I would like to thank you for all of your work and all of your advices (as an example, your advice about focusing more on values is helping me so much in my recent work ! )

Now about your work, I was also wondering some days ago if you wouldn't gain in strenght with more details ! Also, I think you are mastering the "epicness" in your scenes (They are sooo wonderful and they're telling stories) but your characters may have a sort of "lack of expression", I mean, you give them expressions but maybe you could exagerate or increase them, like you did on these :

I think these artworks have more "personality" than some of your stuff (which is still exceptional and that doesn't prevent me to love it ^^)

I got some examples of artists who could inspire you, maybe it could help (even if I think that you already know them or have already your inspirations... in the end I'm not sure you need them lol ^^)

    Paul Bonner

    Wei Wang

    YangQi

    Fenghua Zhong

I don't know if my post has been useful for you, I hope it was but I don't really see what a guy like me could bring to your stuff ^^

To finish... Thank you and... KEEP IT UP !!!!!

Izzual-Mate thank you very much for the feedback and the encouragement!!! I have done some quick experiments with some speedies today and it seems that the issue is the details. I will try to improve!!!! These artists are great, i knew paul bonner and i had recently found out about these other guys from cghub. Great inspiration.

Ok here some speedies, i was mostly experimenting, i think i have found something but i will try some more things and will see. These are 1hour 30 minutes each [i am using a counter], to force myself to generate an idea and try to depict it roughly but with all the basic stuff in there. Since i want to be a good concept artist, thats more important for me, to be able to provide lots of sketches during the work hours.

Ok these didnt had many steps because i did them speedy, but i started with the same system as the previous works. Limited values and moving to more details from there.

have to sleep, good night !!!

great stuff, King, as usual. Do you usually work in greyscale and then do a color pass after you've established your values?

Danny_K-Thank you very much mate!!! i will
MrFrenik-Thanks you very much man . Yep although i had worked the other way numerous times. But greyscale so far is more reliable for me and it allows me to worry less about value [because when doing directly with color you silmutaneously have to get great values] and worry more about design.

Ok i am back, but still lots of stuff to do. But anyway i worked some more on the previous piece
    Good night

This is an awesome sketchbook! I'm glad I found it Something that hit me when I saw that you had 118 pages in your sketchbook was "wow, I bet he's really good!" And I was right. So what made me think that you'd be really good when I'd never seen your work before? My idea is that no matter how terrible you are when you start, if you have the work ethic to keep going for 100+ pages, you're practically guaranteed to become something incredible. So thanks for the inspiration and the insight oh and this last creature guy is amazing!

Dude, you are a machine. This is amazing stuff. Crazy to think that most of what we see here is just your personal stuff. Always a pleasure to see your new updates. Would love to take a look at that livestream of yours. Its pretty damn long so I have time this semester to check it out but I'll bookmark it.

oh my god tremendous work as always! hmm i dont know if ts right for a mage to carry that big of a sword, mages arent tipically strong they are smart, i know you want to have the pirate vibe or something of the sort but it feels like it battles with the concept if youre gonna make it a mage that uses swords at least have him grabbing it hahaha idk im just nit picking either way keep it up sir you are an inspiration!

ahhhhh!!! everything is always so dynamic in here i need to learn how to grayscale > color. i always do straight color as i find grayscale to color a bit puzzling. do you normally use multiply or overlay when you go about washing colors over your values?

Hey mate ! You did a lot of great stuff ! I love the way your illu is ending, you have definetely started to get deeper into details and the result is really awesome ! There's maybe one thing that is a bit embarrassing, the lower part of his robe (with the ropes) is looking a bit flat in comparison with the rest, but you may have wanted it this way because of the "fog" you put on this part, anyway, I love it ^^ !
Your characters and the speed are great too ! I can't wait to see the final version of the mage !

    Keep it up !!
