I really like your colors and atmosphere in your pieces.

I LOVE your second character (which went straight to my "special" folder) and although it has some issues (her legs) the overall feeling of the piece is fantastic.
    Keep it up!

The only thing wrong with any of these I can think of is -Was the elf supposed to have shot the arrow in the second pic? It's waaaay too short, more like a blowdart really.

Otherwise yeah, these are pretty awesome!

Love the environments, the anatomy on the elf needs to be looked over again though. The legs are twice the size of the rest of the body... or atleast just the thighs.

Good looks though, keep at it.

I don't know about the little girl's outfit. It generally isn't a good idea for street kids to wear crotchless pants, I'm pretty sure. Its a cool outfit, but it looks a bit odd on a kid. Especially with the garter belt kinda cut out.

    Great color, though :P

be aware of sampling....doing studies and copying are often separated with a fine line. If you are, give due credit...
especially in your last environment speed painting

Wow, killer environments! Really, out of the bunch, the environments are my favorite, especially that first one; beautiful. The characters look a little as if they weren't treated the same way as the rest in a lot of cases; maybe it's the skin tones? You have a lot of great color throughout your environments, but the elf especially looks like she could use a little variation in the skin tone to make it look more finished and integrated. Also, her calf looks a little strange to me for some reason. I think it might be that it gets a bit thick near the back of the knee?

What's the little girl eating? A dumpling?

Hey, I can be wrong but the last image looks a lot like the image posted. Be wary of grabbing inspiration from others, and if you do, you should give credit to the artist you were inspired from. Just my two cents on artistic etiquette.

Yeah, I was about to say... I knew that painting looked familiar! Maybe it's because yours was on my wallpaper for so long haha.

giraffechon: yes you are right and i am terribly sorry i couldn't identify the original creator of the piece. i added it to my collection a while back and it was one of my favs. the last speed painting is inspired by the painting you posted. and as a artist myself i realized i should have at least identified and credited the artist of the original piece.

xchosun1x: my sincerest apologies, i had no intension on copying or plagiarizing the piece. it was a practice i did after looking at your painting, and until now i was unable to find the source of the painting, the only clue i had was the title of the jpeg. I'm a student, and i can assure you the last speed painting submitted were meant for no commercial use or any other means. i will be more cautious about these studies in the future, please accept my apologies.

    Frank,
I completely understand the use of pieces to learn from and study. I am a bit on the sensitive side with this matter because just last week I was notified of someone using my work (literally taking my artwork) and submitting them in some online web contests....
Thank you for your reply to this matter. Your work is great and I can see your work really maturing soon.
    Keep it up
    james
