Masterwork. Where's mine?
hey! i browsed through the pages - massive improvement! so i stumbled over your last page and - a question; where did you get the references for your costume history studies? was there a concrete site where you got them, or did you google one by one? - i would like to try this for me too (maybe some others would also be interested)
sooo keep on posting gal!

Hey man. New guy here. Definitely love the work being put in here. Totes subscribed so I can see if I can learn anything from you. As in. I gotta get good skill from SOMEWHERE right?
See you later!
Do a lot of work and your work will be as good as your ambitions.

thanks for your comments, all.
nianto--the met museum has an impressive collection of historical costumes and accessories. i also went to my library and the fidm museum in downtown la.
i was going to write a long post about why i didn't draw in the last three months, but it felt weird and way too personal so i'll just be frank instead.
in a nutshell i had a really hard stressful time in school and finally had a burnout. i couldn't even open a sketchbook without having an episode, and was essentially forced by my shit health and mental state to set art aside.
enough time has passed i feel to ease into drawing again, so....hi again people!
i'm going to take it really slow but hopefully after a few days or weeks i'll be as excited about this pursuit as i was when i was 16 and first learned about studying art.

a lot of the designing i've been doing recently has been for knitwear and stuff. it's weird to explain but i've really enjoyed taking the processes i've learned from school and experimentation and applying it to things that can be useful or at least wearable and nice looking.
a sort of branch off to my little etsy shop would be my photo-a-day project. it's been largely knitting related [who knew]. the photos are really shit and amateurish but i have a feeling that over time it may help me get more sensitive to things like composition, which has always been my weakness in my main work.
this is to say that i invite you to try your hand and mind at something new. i was initially scared that pursuing something else at the same time would somehow be a betrayal of concept art, but i've learned now that it could only add dimension to what i love the most.
..even if it's almost embarassing to..uh. appear in your own photographs. or hide an uncomfortably personal thought in the piece of cheese that is shameless self promotion to not feel so vulnerable WOOOO

I was starting to lose the sense and reason of my life,
but then I saw the beauty of your face, and a new hope
has been born deep within my muddy soul.
Your knitting work is amazing and your art in general
left me breathless. The last pages here are something special,
I was following you so long, and I just realized the star
status of your true being. Please update as much
as you can, cause if not, sadness will
be poured upon us. I am dead serious, you
cheered me up and I feel so good now.
I would like to give you some strong words
of motivation, but I am not really good at that, sorry.
I am a huge fan of your work
and a regular follower, waiting
for the beauty of your next post.
as usual... how can I add anything after LtPlissken?
keep it up m8!
thanks, i will do my best
these were really ugly and frustrating to do but it's important that i keep at sketching, however i do it really
also, finished a red thing recently...i really like the texture. solid or simple colors are best at showing them off.

I would like to ask a bit of a perky question, I hope that
you will not get mad or upset. I was thinking about this so much
and so long. But I would also like for you to give me a straight and
honest answer. Actually there are two questions. The first what is
bugging me for a long long time, is about Bambi. Does Bambi really
exist, and is it a real animal? And if it really exists, where does it live?
The second question is about the chocolate factories and about squirrels.
Are squirrels really helping in the production of chocolate, or are chocolates
made out of them, or neither of those? Deep inside I have been struggling
with the answers, there is always new, always something intriguing, I want
to know more and more. Each and every day I wake up and then I learn
something new. If I don’t learn anything new, than I cannot sleep at night.
But you know me. If anyone can give answers and help me out, that person
is you. I have so much faith in you. Your art knitting and drawings are improving,
and just one look in your gorgeous eyes, makes me wanna cry.
I want you to know that I think plenty about you, so
be careful from the evil of this everyday world, and
avoid dark alleys at evening and night.
yes bambi is very real.
now that he knows that you know, keep your bedroom door locked at night.

Nice perspective stuff. I went through an interesting year with a professor of mine doing 2 point perspective free hand, no rulers! It was an interesting skill to gain.
Do a lot of work and your work will be as good as your ambitions.
