    mah sketchbook. updated 26 Aug

these are from my college sketchbook.
the ink pieces are done with a nib and ink "quill" thing, with a broad edge. it was the first time trying this tool and it was hard to control the ink at first cos u had to keep dipping it in ink, but i think i got there ok in the end. very fun to use and i think i prefer it more than a pen. they were drawn in ink streight off the bat so they are quite innacurate.

will be updated when new work is completed. crits always welcomed

first attempt at oils. pretty shoddy but i think i picked up a couple of things. i'm gonna define the lights more once its finished drying.

i could really do with buying a drying media for the next attempt.

Just wanted to drop in to say i like your ink and wash drawings. They're probably your strongest work in my opinion. Keep it up.

Your really good with those inks guy, got me inspired to pull mine out now!

For the paintings, its really hard to make out exactly what they are, is it because of the camera or is it you really just paint them that dark?

Hope to see you post more.

can't believe this sb doesn't have more comments! love the lines on the last ingres' study. the only crit i can think of is on the last guy, his eyes seem a bit too large/cartoonish for the rest of the realistic looking face. but that's very minor.

The scanner killed the colours in the SP and made it way too dark. :/

Nice bridgeman hands. You've done some good copies of master works here in your SB. I especially like the Ingres sketch copy & the almost-the-jewish-bride piece.

    Keep on working.
