native american kachina's. kinda broad but if you narrow it down to the wuya's theres alot you can still come up with.
"In Hopi the word is often used to represent the spiritual beings themselves, the dolls, or the people who dress as kachinas for ceremonial dances, which are understood to all embody aspects of the same belief system. Among other uses, the kachinas represent historical events and things in nature, and are used to educate children in the ways of life."

if you were to design the prince/princess from a disney film how would you make him/her? or redesign one that already is?
or the villain/protagonist/sidekick of an rpg fantasy game (like the older ff games, the char designs is crazy sometimes so it feels kinda open to what you want to do?) maybe its been done already (i know fighting game has been done at least)
or do char design for a flash short or similar, it would require to think a bit about chardesign as it usually isnt to detailed and you have to think about the shapes alot, to make it easier to animate etc.
i know we hade the winner chosing a topic once, that was fun, couldnt we do that again from time to time? or was that some speciel occasion only, dont remember x)
wish i had some more fun ideas to contribute with D: reading through here there has been quite alot of cool stuff suggested!

A girl from a harsh and dark dimension wielding a samurai sword and wearing rags and hiding her true zombie form under her hat fights evil with her samurai blade and her makeshift gun
considering recent events, 'the ultimate police riot controller, Nicholas Angel' might be a good idea.

"the seventh son of a seventh son, [name] has spent most of his adult life searching for the five beasts of [fantasy world name], having killed four of these beasts and taken a trophy from each, [name] prepares himself for his final and most dangerous battle against the great dragon [dragon name]"
Although primarily he wields magical power, [name] is no stranger to many forms of mortal weaponry.
what might [name] need for a fight with a dragon? what were the four other beasts and what were the trophies? (he has them about his person).
I recently came across this theory about the pokemon game series suggesting that there was a generation wiping war in the pokemon war.
So, i want you to imagine what a soldier that fought in that war would look like.
Keep in mind that pokemon is a world which both has goofiness and seriousity.
Also, the humans in that are more durable and agile compared to ours (although it is mostly used in comedic style.) So you can give him a variety of weapons.
Coming to C.O.W side of things, try to imagine a "standard issue" pokemon would look like. Since the pokemon world is big, and varied, go crazy.
Good luck...
A few ideas popped into my head...

Barbarian Warhero. Massive hulk of muscle and untamed rage.
"Ugly Johnny"
Concept character for film or TV. Ugly Johnny is the underworld/supernatural contact of a modern-day paranormal investigator. Think one of those shady mob guys waiting for the protagonist in the corner of a greasy diner - but Johnny happens to a monster. Or a goblin. Or a troll. Or a demon. Or a bogeyman. Or whatevs. He's an oogly beast with the info.
A fantasy creature/ race that's a musician in a modern band, keeping in mind the bands genre and the particular instrument the character plays. For example, a death metal goblin guitarrist, a mermaid lounge singer, or a centaur jazz saxophone player.

We are in England, it is the year 2031, the conservative party has been in power for twenty years, events that started as minor cuts and tax increases have escalated, and the days of public executions have returned. Citizens are being issued the death penalty for minor infractions like feeding the meter or putting the bins out too early.
Most of the population of the country is downtrodden, living out the remainder of their lives under this dictatorial regime, some have gone feral, crime rates are at an all time high. Contact with other counties is prohibited.
However, pockets of resistance have begun to spring up all over the country. These groups have recently increased in size and power, dubbed: 'the cell', the resistance arms and trains regular citizens to fight back, with the ultimate goal of overthrowing the government and starting anew.
What would one of these resistance fighters look like? How would they dress? what would they be armed with?
I know it's a bit of a cliché but I reckon there would be some good ideas.![]()
Dr Annihillator
THE supervillain. He is the most powerful villain in the Universe. His intellect makes him feel like a god among humans. His technology makes him as strong as one. He employs numerous scientists and commands a small private army. And he wants only one thing - total domination!
Dr Annihilator went on to attempt many plans of global domination and in the process would frequently battle the world's greatest superheroes. He was never caught and no one knows his true identity. Only one thing is certain - he is the greatest threat the world has faced till now!
Not my idea but oh well, its still a good one
The superhero Captain Capslock and The Keys of Justice!
There's no time for rational thought, citizen! There are capital letters being abused!
Or their enemies, the deadly trio of Control, Alt and Delete!

Drahomira, the Wall
A famed mercenary once christened The Indomitable Wall of Dunthuin, and now known simply by the epithet, “The Wall,” Drahomira’s renown comes from her resilience, sheer physical strength, and her scarred armor. Eschewing the slinkier attire of so many other adventuresses, Drahomira strides into battle clad head-to-toe in enchanted plate and wielding an assortment of heavy weapons. She has no personal symbol or heraldry, and stands behind no one banner – her reputation fulfills the former, gold purchases the latter.
Often assumed to be grim to a fault, Drahomira understands that silent stoicism can be a powerful compliment to her physical presence. But in truth she is vivacious and good humorous – she does what she does because she loves it, and her scars are only skin deep.
Drahomira’s armor does not hide her gender, but it does emphasize functionality over form. She is human and from a medieval fantasy setting.

peter pan
AchillesHe ran with me through meadows of sunflowers.
We ran so fast,
Riding on the back of the wind.
We sang together under the hazy glow of the golden lantern
That rode high above in calm seas of blue.
We watched the stars twinkle
Until sleep closed our eyes
And cradled us through dreams of light
Where fairies in secluded groves giggled,
Peeping from behind flowers frosted with dew
Where mermaids sang near the waters of the sea
In the moonlight
Scales glistening
Pearly combs drawing through fine golden curtains of hair~Esther SP. Buhrman
Sir PercivalAnd Trojans hearing the brazen voice of Aeacides,
all their spirits quaked – even sleek-maned horses,
sensing death in the wind, slewed their chariots round
and charioteers were struck dumb when they saw that fire,
relentless, terrible, burst from proud-hearted Achilles' head,
blazing as fiery-eyed Athena fuelled the flames~ Iliad
ThorFrom noiseful arms, and acts of prowess done
In tournament or tilt, Sir Percivale,
Whom Arthur and his knighthood called The Pure,
Had passed into the silent life of prayer
Praise, fast, and alms; and leaving for the cowl
The helmet in an abbey far away
From Camelot, there, and not long after, died.~Alfred,Lord Tennyson
NymphHere amid icebergs
Rule I the nations;
This is my hammer,
Miölner the mighty;
Giants and sorcerers
Cannot withstand it!~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
snow whiteSo beautiful, this creature, that,
I wished that she were mine,
For in her presence, I felt love,
Knew peace and joy sublime.
I watched her as she did her thing,
In sunlight, shadows, all,
I did not want to leave this place,
But soon darkness would fall.~Ron Bliss
Quietly, as Nature taught her,
Grew and grew, and came quite soon
Like a flower into bloom:
Raven-browed, of fair complexion,
Breathing kindness and affection. ~A.Pushkin

I dont know if it has been sugggested yet but would be a lot of fun to do the Krampus. A christmas demon for the holidays coming up
Krampus is a mythical creature recognized in Alpine countries.
According to legend, Krampus accompanies St. Nicholas during the Christmas season, warning and punishing bad children, in contrast to St. Nicholas, who gives gifts to good children.
In the Alpine regions, Krampus is represented by a demon-like creature. Traditionally, young men dress up as the Krampus in Austria and southern Bavaria, especially the market town Berchtesgaden, during the first two weeks of December, particularly on the evening of 5 December, and roam the streets frightening children with rusty chains and bells.![]()
