I like your style, but I feel that in some cases-- such as the second image on your first post-- the eye gets lost in interior details, especially because the line weights are the same. I'd say erase some of the lines in his beard an thin out the others so it offers a better visual contrast to the wrinkles of his vest. Otherwise, it makes a visual blob that most people will probably spend time trying to puzzle out, rather than focusing on the image as a whole.
I love your character studies. I've really started pushing myself to show more personality in my character sketches, so it's always great to see it done well.
