Here's an idea to get the artistic juices flowing - ideas for a portfolio being my own personal biggest bugbear -
Take an established - not altogether fantastic - album or book cover and re-design it.
Taking into account what the inspiration for the book or album cover is and producing YOUR OWN idea to suit.
Everyone can have a crack at the same idea or introduce their own. Thus also helping to build your portfolio.
