These three sketches are in chronological order, and I feel I am definitely making improvements, but figured I'd post them together to see if anyone can spot any recurring problems, or bad habits I am succumbing to?

I like what you have so far. But here is something that is perhaps more of my own personal opinion: give your characters more gesture. IMO, unless you're doing a bind pose or turnarounds, you should start your character with a gesture. It creates more interest and reveals more personality. For example your barbarian could be either good or evil. Playing with the gesture could help you figure that out.

Also I would make the barbarian's hips narrower. To me, he's starting to look a touch too feminine.

Good call on the hips! I think that could have something to do with the low slung fur loin-cloth. I'll try bulk up his torso a little more! As for pose - I'm not too concerned with that at the moment, though I will have to make it a more dramatic wider stance pose for the 'bigger' armour I want to go on to design...

in the first few, you're avoiding the feet... don't! and make sure they are big enough for your character to be able to move/fight/function on them. Otherwise, kickass designs, and awesome work with shape language and variation... maybe try some non-fantasy pieces/other genres? And how about some color?
