    nikos SB. update april3.

first post fuck yeah! .Hi conceptart. Im niko I just turned 15 and im a freshman in highschool. I enjoy nike dunks, music from hiphop to hardcore, smokin ganja and most importantly drawing!
I've been a long time lurker since like 8th grade, and I've finally convinced myself to make a sketchbook thread.

Im not really big on traditional art, I love it, but im not very good at it, but im practicing. For the most part I just draw what i want in my sketchbook and try not to worry about the technics.
I guess as you can imagine, my art teacher really doesnt like anything I draw because its not very traditional, but whatever.
anyway heres some of my stuff, CONSTRUCTIVE critisism always welcome
oh yeah , i love drawing lions lol.

it is good. not the best. but, u have "something". first, they are strangely different. just keep up with ideas, always imagine something else. or, try not to think what u want to draw. and, find anything u want to accomplish with some reference that you like on the internet. and, let ur mind flow )

    Héhé original and funny work!
Some of them really show that you were... under influence when you did them!

Haha. I like it! Well, I would definitely try to work on what you're calling traditional. Really it's just experience and dedication. With your flair for unusual designs, I think you could really go places. I like your abstract stuff, but in my mind that ain't everythin'! Go to it with a vim!

Yo thanks for stopping by my SB. I like what you have going here so far, kinda reminds me of my high school days just looking at them... bombing, partying, clowning, bombing, pissing off the art teacher... bombing. After one to many close calls and hearing that I was on the cops' narc-and-you'll-get-off list I cooled shit down a bit. Once it warms up though, peep my SB for some public ish.

Anyways... Your work has got nice style, I really like the colorful lions. I'd like to see some work that has, well, some work put into it. You know, like some hours in.. cause these sketches are cool, but I'd love to see some more finished pieces. The faces are dope, colorize them bitches!

I think you need to listen to your art teachers and do the stuff you may find boring right now.

You're trying to run before you can walk.

This is the sort of stuff that illustration courses seem to gag for, though... And it irritates me because I'm not a fan of it. But they wouldn't take you on without seeing proof that you understand and can apply things you should be learning now.

Go back to basics and you'll find it fuels a knowledge that later down the line you'll be glad of.

Oh, and have you thought about trying to set up a shop or something on cafepress? I think your stuff is the sort of style that seems to sell well. I like the little dinosaur tee, wouldn't wear it myself but I think a lot of people would!

Heh, really like the abstract quality of your work Like the others, I agree that your anatomy studies need work. Visit my sketchbook and sift through the comments, and someone posted some really good links. I'll go get you a good one, and edit this post.

Edit: Found it! This should really help. I recommend working this book to the bone.
