the idea behind the pic was to show a rather abandoned alleyway instead of the typical crowded street, but i can't say i'm too happy with the outcome... the impressionistic/moody approach turned the pic into a bit of a mess, me thinks :/ if time allows i might restart from scratch... maybe.

invinciblewombat - that's almost like 'nighthawks' in blade runners L.A., like it very much
decypl - sweet sweet colors, keep it up!
lucky munky - cool. i think the yellow car is whats ruining the perspective right now, its front portion looks almost isometric.

Great topic, here is where mine is at. Crits welcome as always.

Gep> I love the raw feel ... but it doesn't look futuristic at all (to me), it could just be a seedy alley in NY city. You definitely need some more hi-tech elements. In Bladerunner they had those lethal parking meters amd futuristic phone booths ... You need something like that. A future car or skimmer, maybe? You could try and retro-fit more equiptment onto the outside of the buildings, like in the movie, all the air-con and plumbing is on the outside of these old historic buildings, so they are wrapped in an exo-skeleton of wires, pipes and machines. But you are so almost there. You don't need to change much, you just need to push it a bit farther into the future. I love it so far, though.

hallo> I love the concept, the curvalinear perspective works for me. I would love to see you refine it more ... keep the loose impressionistic painterly style but firm up the elements and define the space. And I agree with corrick about the texture overlay, it detracts from the work. Please keep working on it, I super-likee. - And you are absolutely correct it is the car which is screwing up my perspective, and I have worked on it and it is looking better, now.
