    max jackx -- pin up

Hi and this is a small string of three two almost done and one face pin up in the early stages...

I also just bought the down load from James Kei and recommend it -- these paintings were done of course before I watched this amazing painter of skin!! But watching every day and trying to let it soak in and actually will try to apply it too. Hee

    Max Scared

did changes to the new girl and started watching down loads, looking at color wheels and generally trying to get a body of work together that hopefully progresses.... also working on lighting, anatomy, faces, details, have fun with my boy friend, remember to feed all of my animals... two cats, three ferrets, three white mice, one rabbit. All of this and keep a positive attitude? Yes.
    Enjoy, Kelly X

Hey, Thank you for all of the good words -- Dudes!!!!! You all rock.

Also, Does anyone know how to get on this chat... the one Davi does, I am a total idiot about this chat stuff but like to talk about art, cats, trivia about nerd stuff... Kelly

    max curcus madness

this is a rough, trying to work in a more painterly fashion... barely even started but the concept is Circus madness!! I may put some clothes on her? As I said just starting on this... Anatomy not good yet and as my teacher critiqued already, may have to make fake bust look real? this may be a problem?

    nice sketchbook so far!

you want help on how to make the breasts in the last painting look more real?
first of all, gravity! breast arent half spheres, the fat inside of them get pulled down by gravity, so there is more mass on the bottom than up top... think of it kind of like filling a baloon with water and then letting it hang from your fingers, only that half of it is visible lol. so Its almost a drop shape if you get me... aaaargh its hard to explain!

Also, there are muscles underneath the breasts (same muscles as in males) that usually show through right above them.

    hope that helps, cheers!

Nice stuff here. You have a really good painterly style already going on just keep doing that and use it to do some anatomy studies Like Mark Winters does http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...t=80021&page=3 He carries his lap-top to life drawing class and does some incredible stuff with it.

I love the expression of the girl by the bullet hole. That picture has a great pulp-fiction kind of narrative.
Her nose needs some work though.

Also, you see the dark bar that runs along the top of each post? On the left it shows the date posted and on the right it shows the number of the post That's what Lakka meant by #8. It's handy if you only have one image per post, but if you post several images at a time it doesn't help. That's why I find it usefull to number the individual images so that people can refer back to them.

Wow, the sumi e in post #21 is really cool. The contrast with that sort of background is working well. Wouldn't mind seeing more of that.

As for this last one, watch the composition. I think your strong reds in the corners are tossing the eye around a bit much, pulling it away from the real subject, the girl. Also, as I'm sure you know, the hand holding the gun (it is a gun, right?) needs some more work. Like a thumb

Hey Kelly some great work here! Don't like to crit a WIP but i'll second what Hai! said about the value of the reds in the corner. If the blood splats are neccesary maybe try choosing dark reds making sure you up the saturation to keep some depth to them. Keep it up! god knows I need to post more personal pieces instead of my studies all the time

Thanks Mark! Yes the face is mud and kind of not good looking at all yet...
Can't wait to fix it... and thank you for the compliment too... !

Hai!^^ Started in Sumi-e and love it so much, these are my roots... want to try to put it together somehow, not to loose my hand in the zen!!
mellongcreate -- you and Hai totally rock! and I took all the mess away and new things are hopefully happening, see what kind of brain I have as a nubie I guess -- we can all learn by making messes I think, mess it all up!!! Kelly

Sexy hot chicks you got there. I can tell you're good at chicks just by spotting your icon in some other artist's threads. The technique on skin and facial expression is especially impressive... really hot...

Anyway about things I think can improve (sorry for sound arrogant by critic someone better than myself):

    1. 2nd image, something seems seriously wrong with her lips.

    2. 3rd image, right hand anatomy seems strange.

    3. 4th image, shadow on right part of her face feels incorrect somehow.

    4. 5th image. anatomy of her right waist and hip seems weird...

    Sorry just my 2 cents.
