pretty cool shading man, i like therivets and their treatment. only thing i Critique i have is that he is too clean even for the shading, add some patchwork on to him and some dents, but thats what i like to see, i still like the work. will you be rendering him with colour?
My Imagination is killing me!
Very nice sketch.
I agree with jilted about the patches and dents idea. One other thing I wanted to point out was the left foot. It looks flat, but Im not sure if you just left it flat since its a sketch. Also, I get the sense he's sorta stubby, but Im not sure if thats so or if the perspective of the legs makes it seem like it.
Very cool and clean concept.
There is nothing wrong with using a photo to help you see things.
No one complains about life drawing,
so take a photo.
its easy, and will improve your piece greatly."
Cool revamp. Love the shading, love the rivets, love the pose.
This is absolutely cool. This one show's you're thinkin'- thanks for sharing. Now. you need to polish it up!
Feels nice....can't beat that graphite look for rendering a ch.
Have you had a chance to preview the film "Facing the Audience". Arisman was, and still is, the chair of the MFA Illustration program at SVA and this film shows him at his best. Very nice guy. In many ways more of a fine artist then a illustrator. And as a teacher, very mystical...in a off handed sort of way.
