cool designs, you got a nice sense of composition and designs,
also impresive how you manage texturing, materials are well defined and described
my only crit (if im allowed) is that the pictures lack a bit of volume, and I think its because of the lights, perhaps you need stronger lights, or more contrast, dunno
but as said textures and designs are outstanding

    Hey Rowland,
Great looking work you’ve got going here!! The iguana dude is very cool and your guys in armor look really vicious. I like the drool coming out of the creatures’ mouths too (nice touch). The weapon is just so darn good. Great concepts, keep ‘em comin.

Great monster concepts there and I like the kind of brushwork you've used on the two last ones. If I have any crit to give you, it's for using so much black on the shadings. Not that it's always bad and this could be a matter of taste anyway but if you'd rather use just dark grey (or a dark colour), there'd be always room for making a spot even darker. Avoiding black would automatically add a bigger range of values for the shadows, making more depth compared to a picture with lots of 100% black areas. I think coloured shadows are another thing you could start experimenting with. Anyway great start and keep the concepts coming!

    more work

i didnt expect such a turn out on comments. thanks to you all for the compliments. ive been lazy but heres an update on the last guy, lots more detail work to go, but my eyes are burnt.

smuli- old habits die hard right, i try not to use black or gray for shadows, im still new to color. and the brush is the preset acrylic in corel painter. but i like it. and i dont have photoshop.

cirrus- im still learning the whole lighting thing, and im relearning my patience so i dont rush my concepts.

aussiedeza- no i just kinda improv the gear. i draw the figure n play dress up, or add as i go. it would probably come out better if i did have a process though.

thanks everyone for the comments its inspiration to keep working. Crits are more than welcome. cheers

hey man! Your latest creature is really gross, I like that

On the big guy though, I wanna see him compared to a human to get a little perspective. Overall I like him alot, I think he maybe got to small feet. Maybe Itll look better if he has really big feet

    great work man

Veryy good! No words to say about your characters! But it's obvious that you should work more on human anatomy! You got to master the anatomy better, do some studies I'll keep an eye on your SB!

    Hello!

I haven't been here for a long time. I am sorry

Your characters are interesting. But when we talk abou poses they have to be more dynamic if you want to catch the watchers eye! Anyway your ideas are very original. You have gain a big inspiration from Marko Djurdjevics works is that right?
On the last drawing mayeb the Red Skulls legs are very long!

Take care and watch more strictly on the poses - G

P.S. - Thank you for writing in my SB. I hope that my advice will help you.

Hey good job on the contest. Out of all of those, my favorite would be the second to last one, which in turn I would have to give a crit on. His axe looks sad, its drooping. Having the axe bend the other way not only would look better, it would be more functional on swinging.

Nice work! I'd like to see some more muscle definition on your characters though. It seems like you draw the clothes without drawing the underlying body first, that makes it harder to tell where the muscles should bulge, crease or indent. Arms, legs, waist etc all look kindof tubular, tapering into eachother where they should wedge or... Whatever that other word is.

Draw the body first, clothes later. It'll greatly improve the body definition of your characters. Keep it up!
Any tips appreciated (The Whyatt Sketchbook)
