damn - your first pieces were fine - good studies - and then the first chow was fine too, albeit a bit lacking when it comes to colour/light - but during the first page the painting just grew like crazy - and then the lines in the last of the tree pieces is just wonderful stuff.

& I like your ideas and content - going to be interesting what's next for you.

Great works here! I like your b&w portrait studies and environments.
The studies from movies are also looking good. And the cartoony zombie character from page 1 is lovely! Good job, will be looking forward to seeing more from you!

Good atmosphere in the last District 9 screenshot, the colors are really on point. Also, the last EOW entry you did had a very satisfying turnout, pleasant to look at and filled with nice detail.

    Keep doing you

I have returned after abandoning my sketchbook after lapsing into a blissful stupor of video games, alc and procrastination for months. I'm on the rebound again, trying to keep improving despite my advancing years. There are so many super-pimp artists on here that draw circles around me, I hope it's not too late!

Also I saw a while back that one of my art-hero's (Kaktuzlime) had abandoned this site for some reason or another, I love his work so much and I think part of my hiatus from this sketchbook was because he left and it inspired me to follow suit, but now I think I need my sketchbook again to help me stay the course and learn how to be a better artist and person. Anyway, here is my first update in a while, more-updates should be coming more-regularly!

you have some nice pencil work, im guessing you've been drawing longer than digitally painting? dont worry thats quite natural, and you'll get there. so keep up the tutorials and anatomu work and you'll be flying. keep it up.

I really like your painting from post 33. It's a bit idyllic and slightly creepy at the same time. Cool! In a number of your paintings, I think you could improve by showing your edges a little more love though. Some of your paintings have fairly uniform or sloppy edges and it's hurting what could otherwise be a pretty nice piece of work. Particularly post 36. I think you could really strengthen that up with some sharp edges in places.
    Lookin' forward to seeing more!

    Hey Wholewheat,

Keep up the anatomy studies, and not just the quick ones, copying anatomy books and/or old master drawings as accuratly as possible is also something you should try ( your hand studies form way back ago are good). Also, when you are drawing your figures, be carefull wiht your structure. For example, your guy on #42 has a way too narrow waist and the jucntion between the neck/torso could have used some more definition.

However, I do like the line quality of some of your drawings ( post #30 for example) and I like the eye study that you did, gotta do more of those myself haha.

I really like your sketchbook, I think your sense of colours is just great, you use beautiful ones in your paintings. Also, there's a lot of movement and fluidity in your lines. You seem ultra creative, it's great to see and very inspiring
My only critique is that sometimes your faces look a bit awkward, I'm not sure what it is about them, something in the depth, or about the eyes... I'm unsure what it is.
Keep up the great work! I'm subscribing

Some very lovely comments, lemme see..

dogface Thanks for visiting - I saw you sb too, wrote comment so won't repeat here. Yeah I draw lots more than digital painting. Drawing makes sense to me, with painting I am always confused lol.

Tea Thanks! Those are all good points, now that you mention it I see those anatomy problems - but I didn't when I did it, next time better tho!

lemming I loved your comments - I liked #33 too, you are right about edges. THat is funny, I never noticed but now that you mention it.. Anyway I tried to take your advice with my newest pic and made cleaner edges. Thanks for that

IristheVirus Thanks for kind words! Your sketchbook is sexy sexy and I wrote in it for you I like your work very much! Yeah I draw some things oddly and don't understand it myself, but can only try and make better next one

Here is todays artwork, who is it? maybe the president..

Why do these weird little poems pop into my head whenever I do an update? Well this will be the last one..

'nother pic to add to the collection
    tryin' to git an art-'rection..
added some color, but didn't go crazy,
when I use my wacom, I realize it hate me.

I really enjoy doin these caricatures, I'm trying to do a few more before I switch to something else. Trying to focus on my painting more since I feel it is what's lacking the most (although I think there is a lot in that department). Anyway here's one for today, should have another one ready in a day or two.. requests??

Hi Meps, thanks for the kind words! I'm glad you liked my caricatures They are pretty much my favorite thing to do lately, although I'm gonna try and focus on something a little different for a while, gotta push myself and all that stuff.

Architecture and perspective is something I really need to work on (neglect it a lot!) I'm gonna try to do more of these till I start getting comfortable (or really frustrated!). Did these today, they need work but I'm happy I didn't abandon them before finishing like usual.

Gurzy - Hiho, thanks for posting! I used to do lots of 3d but not much no more. Cool profile pic

Another betch. These are tough, but I've always been hella jealous of guys who can draft really well (like Feng Zhu for example) - I see lots of mistakes but I like the direction these are going, hope I can do a few more before the burnout..!

Study of a painting by the big dong (John Singer Sargent) - which I refuse to think about any longer in order to avoid depression.
