Nice start, I like the deing of the one in the first post.
Oh, thanks skorpi
Here is some pencil sketches. Anatomy of the winged demon or Lucifer isn't absolutely right, but I still like it a lot.

Nice sketchbook. Now, the thing I noticed right away was that the image where you used the photo reference, everything was a lot stronger!! You also shouldn't be afraid to use photo reference for backgrounds. Now, one thing I can suggest about reference, though, is to use ones that have slightly more natural feeling poses. If I hadn't seen the photograph, I wouldn't believe someone could be posed like that (I'm still having a hard time figuring out how she got that photo).
Don't be afraid to slow down and take your time making observations. At this point, you have the ideas down, I think it's the technical side you need to work on. Concentrate on drawing from life, or drawing from anatomy books in order to strengthen your anatomy skill. And keep drawing!

If you want follow up critique/comments, feel free to send me a PM or post on a thread of mine! I might not realize you need it, otherwise.
Thanks for your comments Meralynnyou are absolutely right and I have planned to do some anatomy studies. I just got to grapp my neck and star to work
Here's update to overpaint, don't know if I will continue it after this.
That oilpainting is still in progress. And another pencildrawing.
You're doing some great stuff, trying different things, and that's very good (experience is the best teacher), but don't forget to do some "boring" studies once in a while (you know, anatomy, gesture, form, still-lifes...) to sharpen those skills of yours.
Keep up!![]()
Thank you pantless wanderer. I try not to forget those studies.
stupid apple
Nice apple ;p I like Baba Yaga too. Agree with pantless, plenty of still life studies and use as much reference as possible, all the practise will help your images become more believable.
