Dude, you're really killing it with these latest environments, and the characters are definitely getting there too. I think your brushstrokes and pencil lines could be controlled a bit more though, they seem sort of scratchy in places. For the last girl, her stomach seems sort of muddy, but that's all I can point out now really.
    Keep up the good work!

dude, the enviros in post 925 are incredible! love them. all in their own way.
if you havent heard about it, you should check out the new competition on cgsociety. it's called "dreamscape" and sounds like it's right up your alley . and it might encourage you to take something to a more finished state too.
anyway great new sketches as well.
and I'm looking forward to a flood of updates now

...i did studies of the awesome cliffchild (hope he doesn't mind) to get a more structured construction up the next times

these two took 15min/e (studies of ''Eytan'')

Fetsch heh danke man ! ..kommt..kommt

some figures - some by bumskiii as you can see, i drew some more but they are even worse haha ... D:

    and i drew a knight.
we got some snow at home and i was amazed by the harsh vs. soft - contrast and was trying to capture it - i'm not so satisfied with the result, but i think it just needs practicing again ._.

/edit: uuh, yes, yes, changed these things very quickly. thanks for pointing out ! i guess the hardest part for me here was that i wanted to give the armor a dull and dark color/material. thats why the rendering and light things are so spongy ( yay find an awesome new word haha XD ) damn it :]

    dude, digi's are sweet!
Those enviro's especially! makes me wanna try out stuff like that to!
With the last one u said ur not so happy with the result?.. i guess i can agree with you, it still looks good, but its not convincing enough maybe?

Figuring the harsh red colour should maybe be visible on the white snow/blade or armor .. especially in such a grey enviroment it might reflect on something Not to sure on how to solve it though, im not pro at tthat sort of stuff

    Ohwell!
    Keep up the hard work!

o.O this is why i saved your sketchbook in my favourites.
    pretty awesome. these enviros *.*

2coins to the knight: i guess snow is reflecting pretty strong - therefor stronger light from below would be logic (concerning the armor, e.g. his right arm. it seems like the only light comes from the right side.
And his arms seems to me a bit long, well okay, he needs them to carry those 10tons swords ;D

RBeek yep i know what you mean. i'm still not sure about the material and their reactions :/ thanks for suggesting man

Parsakoira cool ! i keep kicking

HerrleerzeichenS long time now see ^^ i'm glad you like them and happy about your advices - def. good points ! thanks dude !

    Lyno heh teeeehhnnkkzz !

    update time \/

for now i'm doing alot of figure studies and sketching, because i think that i really need to train my imagination and understanding of form and masses, which also leads me to light and rendering. guess that might be the gap which hold me back from leveling much faster

maybe i'll take some photos of the accumulation of the other studies, donno.

and some doodles from inbetween; after scrolling though mullins stuff again i felt like just scribbling

    and quick ones

10min studies of awesome artwork to fill space here

no ref and 15min each, to see to what kind of elements my mind stucks to

i hope you'll have an awesome new years eve party heh CU

    Awesome SB, fantastic improvement.

Could you give a few pointers about creating environments / landscapes ? I love the clouds you make and this is something I'm just learning about right now.

Do you have some speed paintings or tutorials somewhere by any chance ?

    Keep rockin

wow \o_o/ thank you so much guys ! i'm really happy you all keep checking and stopping by ! might sound cheesy, but ...its true D: realy motivating

OmertA sure, you can bet on it haha. thanks dude

    Dana_T thank you

Ricardo Robles at first i thought so too, but actually i failed at capturing the rusty feeling i wanted to create, anyways, on to the next fight, aye?! thankss

walnut i guess its your second visit haha, walnuut. im glad you dig it yo

monoooooo - tony luuuuuuuv kleiner drei

    Fetsch thanks victor

    Parsakoira haha awesome thanks !

jNeumann ou, i'm flattered thankss - here it goes yay

tribe oh, giving a few points isn't my strength cause im a noob really D:
but my first advice would be to listen and watch the vids in feng zhu's school channel -> http://www.youtube.com/user/FZDSCHOOL he really nails down the important information about creating these arts, for beginners and advanced learners.
drawing from photos and from your fav art will help tons too. keep in mind everything you know about perpective, story-leading, values (atmosphere) , light and color, mood, etc. - the most important aspects - that way you'll climb up the ladder very fast hehe. the clouds are inspired by teh method of whit brachna btw cheers man and thanks for saying hi !

so, i was really busy ... with drawing haha !
as i already said before i need to keep sketching alot more and woking on holding and handling my pencil the right way
i havent done much this year except drawing and thats what 2011 mainly stands for for me drawing! in the end i wanna kick asses- hard !...just for keeping you prepared D:

    art

here are two comission- images i did. there are going to be banners over it, thats why the composition is so bad, but other than that i'm kinda happy hehe

some of teh sketches, look, argh, just better get back practicing

digi roughs, just noticing how the first one looks like just: ''guessing'' and the next like: 'knowing/contigued'

study sampler, first from head, second of various stuff

You have sick sketching skills. What I find most interesting is that you see some of them as "argh". It makes me want to go make some argh drawings, hehe.
