Hey,
you've made a great improvement from your first sb pages, your 3d stuff is really good.
My only crit is about your anatomy, thought you definitely got your own style i think that you should practice some more life drawings and make some more anatomy sketches about body structure and proportions.
Anyway, keep up the great job.
Alex.
Open for commissions......just PM me.
Oh dude its crazy to watch your rapid progress from the first page to the last!
Keep it up and post more! I want to see more!

very interesting pose, but make sure you don't always paint the same face on every girl![]()
Some more work from last week.
Nice colors on your rooftop chick. Also those foxes are adorable. Especially great the way the light falls on the bottom left one.

Update :
Hey GG, nice work so far! Whatch out for the values in your earlier post ive noticed that you tend to be too dark, I know the problem from myself... lol. Needs a lot of attention for yourself to not do it again.... Keep up the goodies!
Hope to meet in Amsterdam ;-)
PS: Really cool CHAr design for the DM V challenge, yea go cghub!!!!
cool stuff you have here!
girl on the rooftop is quite nice. She doest seem to be that dominant on the image though... perhaps the far background could use a bit of blur/haze? it seems to be fighting for attention with her atm.
Thujon: thnx, looking forward to meeting you as well
equilerex: thnx for the tip

last update is really nice imo. I bet the cartoon secretary will look great cleaned out and inked. The devilman is pretty nice and creepy too while the train ride pictures have a fair share of realism in them!

Made a Selfportrait
Duuuudde (and dudettes),
It has been almost a year since my second to last update!
During that last year you can sort of say I have been too hell and back.
I dropped out of art-college, got a job at a factory and sort of moved in with
my GF at that time. Long story short: I had my creativity killed, my heart
broken and my fire almost extinguished. After a long summer filled with
negative thoughts I enrolled into college again, this time I'm doin' business-management.
I started my own company in october, a T-shirt brand called DAWN and started teaching 3D too adults at tuesday-evenings.
You could say I exchanged CA for other things as school, T-shirts and making money. But I honestly really miss art for art's sake.
So I'm planning my comeback to CA! Better prepare biatches 'cuz I'm bringing them big guns.
I've included a few images of what I have made/done recently. I hope you like them!
Some studies for a new T-shirt design
This one was made truly intuitively, I just concentrated on my feelings at that moment and didn't much care about what I was doing with my ballpoint. The sketch just sucked me in, it was pretty amazing, although the meaning isn't that happy at all.
Selfportrait made in nov 2011 for the SPDAY
Thumbnails for a T design that never made the cut.
Some quick portraits for fun.
Peace!

Good to see you on CA again, now let's see some new stuff!![]()
wait, wait, let me pick up my jaw.
First of all, amaaazing improvements. Second, loving the thumbnails on your latest update.
Moar, moar!![]()
Lav: thnx girl
Kuddlekins: thnx, 5 years is a looooong time (I could have been way further down the road)
Did a value study first in my sketchbook, it probably is the worst kind of paper to do values on. I start to notice that all my portaits contain the same error. I draw the eyes way too far apart from each other! goddamnit!
Second one is a color study done from a photograph, I tried using a full brush, no opacity so that I had to pick the correct kind of color and block everything out. Well that kinda sucked, but it was outta my comfort zone, so I learned a few things and started enjoying it half way through.
Half a year ago I started my own T-shirt line (http://dawnclothing.com)
and am now in the process of a new design and am having a hard time
finding the right way of communicating my message.
Yesterday I was at a graffiti workshop at a highschool, had a great time helping those kids out with their artwork, I took a couple of shots and did some spraypainting myself (the bee and the corn are mine) I focused too hard when I was doin' the bee and sort of screwed it, the corn was rushed like hell in 3-5 minutes which gives it this sort of spontaneity and carelessness. If any people pass by who know a thing or 2 about photography, please help me out with some advice, I'd love to improve in that.
Peace out!
Hey. Cool sketchbook thread. I especially like your 3d stuff. 2d is definitely getting better.
I think you would benefit from doing lots of these values studies. Try to avoid using 100% black and 100% white from the very first steps in digital. Once you use up the maximum range, you lose the ability to put dark accents and bright highlights by the very end which pops the form.
Cheers.
Farvus: thx for the tip!
