Pretty sweet marker stuff you have here. I have never really been able to work to well in marker, but you seem to have figured it out.

I see you are using some sort of white on some of these. I dont think it is working as well as it could. Looks like you're using a dry medium like conte or charcoal, I would suggest looking into white ink. FW makes a good opaque ink that i think would fit better into what you are doing.

I think the white could work, just depends on how you use it. If you are going to use it, use it to its full potential, dont just put a highlight in one spot for the sake of a highlight. Try more complicated hatching and/ or blending techniques with it to really make focal points pop.
Your marker rendering is quite exceptional, I cant wait to see what you do with this once your fundamental skills improve.
"A drawing is not necessarily academic because it is thorough, but only because it is dead. Neither is a drawing necessarily academic because it is done in what is called a conventional style, any more than it is good because it is done in an unconventional style. The test is whether it has life and conveys genuine feeling."- Harold Speed

I really dig the "Roots" drawings, I think it'd be nice to see some other media also. Not that I don't enjoy your markers just a variety of things is always awesome too keep em coming.
