An unfortunate book shopper opens the forbidden Book of Shadows, only to see the end of life as he or she had known it… or would ever know it again.

    Salem Library

The nearly 400 year old Salem Library, a rustic remnant of Americas dark and frightening birth into the New World. The library built upon an unholy site where hundreds of women were unjustly condemned as witches. Every year on the height of the new moon, the supposed wooden statues repeat the doomed fate of the innocent women purified by the fire of a cruel god and its delusional followers.

Go Gaius! Such a nice piece. Perhaps a little more contrast would give it more punch?

    e. it probably looks perfect on pc but mac's screen is so bright, it makes you want some darker shadows.

    Great Stuff!

I love yours Gaius. I am not super keen on the cobwebs in the foreground on the right - if you were that close they'd be detailed not blurry ... but you have my vote.

    >artistPavel - I love the colours, textures and mood but the inconsistent perspect throws it off.

    >yAdam - I would have liked to see how you'd finish this.

    Thanks Everyone.

My vote goes to Gaius. the cool colors worked out great, and the mood is totally creepy. Love the camera angle as well. My only criticism is that the electric desk lamp looked a bit too modern for the way the girl ghost is dressed.

When I first saw Gaius work, I had a "wow" moment, amazing light and atmosphere (as was mentioned, cobwebs could be refined), yAdam comes second, the style reminds me Team Fortress 2.

I voted for artistpavel's because I love the colors and the mood (even if perspective is not perfect, etc. etc.).
Gaius Wonderful, as usual. Voting for him was too obvious...
yAdam that's the kind of speedy I would like to be able to do. Essential but meaningful.
    DavidArt20 nice cartoony style.
    Eugenesz nice concept

    Awesome works

ArtistPavel: love the textures and atmosphere could be a scene for Resident Evil

Yadam: Nice focus, and like said earliier great speed painting we all strive for.

DavidArt20: Great style, lots of personality.

Gaius: Fantastic Job, great ambiance, the cat the ghost it all works great, i strive to get such values like that nice depth.

Revenebo: Nice values and details as well.

I almost voted for Gaius, because it's such a cool perspective, but I ended up voting for ArtistPavel, because after all, his is more like a bookSHOP than anyone's Plus, it had the creepiest, scariest feel of them all.

    Most went for oops- Library.

I voted for Gaius, cause of the colors, the creepy cat, the wonderful and beauty ghost and the mood in the whole picture.

But that descicions needs a while, cause I had other favourites, too and I should name them, too
I want to take a look into all libraries, if I could have the chance to go in there and strolling aorund, sneeking into books and find myseries...

Zephyri: It looks like an old darkelve library I love the combination of that green and blue and the bright shining symbols.

davidArt20: I love that door Want to have this in my working-room The perspective is cool.

revenebo: I like the color purple I wonder why this book is burning in purple fire (looks like it)... Something mysterious would happen O.o

artistpavel: dark and mysterious, too The mist is a good work to make it creepy...a litlle

yAdam: Hehe this will be a good inspiration for stories about this man, who is coming into this bookstore and the mysterious book, which is glowing in blue colors... I ove the usage of light here

Lucky Munky: I love the style of the painting, looks like painted in oil and it has a good mood I think, this will be a library of an evil dragon- or demonlord ....do they read books? *g*

Eugenesz: The perspective is cool..but I'm a little bit sad... its too dark... On my Laptop, I cant see the books... The focus is on this figurine, not on the books or the bookstore itself.

There are some fun concepts in this one, but my vote goes to Gaius for taking it the extra mile.

    yAdam-nice loose painting

    DavidArt20- Cool environment.

    vote goes to Gaius

Not only that it is rendered beautifully, but i also feel dragged into the scene, as i am actually being there and that is one of the most difficult effects to generate in an artwork. I throw in some stars for that one...

Great piece and very well done!
