one problem i see is that the point where the wings meet the body is to small and therefore look weak and also slighty impossible to suppourt the fairies weight in flight
"the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him. And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden." GENESIS 4:19
oh and also the jaw seems to square-ish

I would recommend looking up some good ol' fashion reference. When in doubt or lacking inspiration or even when needing to push something just that little bit further, adding that little touch of extra-awesome i find the answer is always present in nature. I'm not some tree hugging hippie or anything but some of the most amazing designs, colors, and all around cool things(very scientific explanation, i know) are found in nature. Nature has had billions of years to work out composition, construction, design and color schemes, so why not use it. I'd look up insect wings such as dragon flies, wasps, even beetles have cool wings...birds of course, bats, etc...It's already available, you just gotta find it.
check out dragonfly wings reference for the wings. it shd help.
also, the direction of the closest wing to us seems wrong to me; in that position of the back it shd be tilted more towards the viewer as is the back of the faerie.
good luck and keep us posted!![]()
nice job with that flesh!!![]()

first I want to say thanks guys for helping out...I think I covered all the issues but I will leave that to you to decide, so please help finish this off
A couple of things:
I'm not digging the composition. Why is everything crushed into the top right, with a pile of negative space at the bottom left? I understand the use of negative space, but this seems very awkward.
The wings feel very heavy after the change. I think it has more to do with the colour than the design, though the colour you chose does go well with the green skin tones. Maybe if you picked out highlights in her hair the same colour as the wings, this might even things out.
The inside of the petals are lacking in detail. It doesn't need a lot, but right now it looks like you wanted them hazy to imply depth, but a little detail to pull them closer would be nice.
Despite my concerns, I really like this piece. the face and figure are full of character, and you did a great job with the rainbow-y look of the wings.
Nice.
Nice jobPlenty of good comments have been made, so all I have to add is that I think you need to "crispen up" the whole pic; sharpen it up to get it to that professional level (which for this pic, I think is nearly there). Also I've included a composition mock-up which may be a good option, but it's up to you if you want to look into it or not

I tried different wings...changed the comp and added some back ground to kill that empty space...so thanks again for the great advice!!!!
Hey man I sent ya a long email reply, but I didn't see the changes you made until now. I think the skin tones could use some more colder colors. Also I think experimenting with a different color light source. The wings are looking much better then what you had previously. I still think incorporating something with her skin/body to help give the wings a feel that they are really attached. Also pushed the background further more, suggestions would be to add some more flowers in the distance to give it more depth. Also I think the wings are pulling the eye away from the figure, maybe break up those earthy colors and put some more saturation in the facial area to have the eyes come back to her. Also you should incorporate some magical properties to her, ether around her wings or in part of the environment. Anyways looking good.
