    blood and cookies

Hello everyone! I'm new here, I draw for fun and want to see how far I can push myself. There's a long way to go, as you will see.

I used to draw from imagination a lot, rarely using photo reference. That means repetitive stuff, a bit lacking depth and realism. I decided I need to sketch more real things and especially real people, so this is what my sketchbook will contain. Advice, criticism and generally helpful comments are warmly appreciated!

Now, to the drawings themselves. Tea, a week ago (people still move too fast for me to get any details):

Nice lines & colours and your right, people should be chained before trying to get any sketching from them...

    PS: We´re friends now *_*

I found this place you would propably be interested in: http://www.posemaniacs.com/blog/

You can use it to draw many poses from reference in short time.

About that colouring, it could use little more variety in hues, othervice you have to post more so i can have something solid to put my nails on.

Keep up, youll find that inspiration eventually (what a cliche )

People are always going to move too fast for you to get any details. Well, that's not necessarily true -- you WILL get faster, and you'll get bits, but the idea when doing the cafe sketching is really to get the gesture, and maybe the basic shape, and then fill in the details at your leisure from memory. A friend of mine who works in the game industry could draw monkeys as they swung by at the zoo like that.

Keep it up, I'll check back for more.
    ketchook!

Thanks for the useful and encouraging words, you guys. I decided to start using this sketchbook thing again, and maybe I'll actually be serious about it, unlike last time.

I said I'd submit only life drawings, but I'll make an exception for this. I drew it without reference (and even without planning or a sketch, actually) and... there's just something really wrong about the anatomy that I can't seem to fix. Detailed criticism would be awesome. Thanks.

Some older stuff, most of which I didn't really post anywhere. I thought I'd collect everything anatomy-related here.

The hands are all referenced from my own. The guy is referenced from a photo and the female nude is from imagination (which surely shows).
