    P.O.W.! Challenge 3--True Love

    P.O.W.! Challenge 3
Deadline: February 19, 2008, 11:59 pm anywhere in the world.

    Topic: True Love.

Let's see what you can do with a cliche as a topic...heeheehee... Interpret any way you wish. Any media. B&W or Color.
Due to generally revolting by the competitors and numerous death threats, you can NOW present your solution as a minimum of TWO to a maximum of SIX pages which adhere to standard comic specs as below...

    Standard Comic Book Size:

    --Trim size: 6 5/8" x 10 1/4"
    --Live art area: 6" x 9"
    --Bleed size before trimming: 6 7/8" x 10 1/2" (1/8" in all directions)

This thread will be the place you ask questions on this challenge, trash talk, post WIPs and your final art. See the READ THIS FIRST thread for all specs.

    Good luck.

P.O.W.! Challenge 4 will be posted before Tuesday Midnight, February 12, 2008.

Just remember that WIP does NOT mean "wanking in public..."

...and my idea just hit me as I was posting that... You're all dead...

well crap, if i'm getting called 'emo' for dirty-talk comics, who knows what new word they'll have to invent for me when i deal with love.

The new rules RULES It have more flexibility. This will allow to those late people to round their pages if in past midway they realize they wont have enough time, and will give enough space to those people who cannot compress a bible into a stamp

I might give this one a try. After having fleched my muscle on the first POW, I desperately need to explore something different. I haven't done a comic for a decade and I was mentally prepared for POW once it was announced. It kinda revived the fire inside me, and was a bit sad when I finished my first POW. I don't plan to go nuts on this one because I'm very busy at work.

If I win the first POW, don't consider my entry for this one.

Well, actually, I was looking forward to you! I saw the other challenges you participated in and... you pwn man. I just bow to your supernatural photographic memory you have to be able to do these envos without references in just few hours. When I do a simple sport car I can spend month on it and still working the details ... I'd wish to have a mentor of your caliber.

Looks nice, Skorpi. Good drawing and page flow. One suggestion -- in the last panel, the fortune teller is facing the opposite direction than she was on the rest of the page. It makes it look like she's physically turned to the other side. I'd flip her.

Damn, I really want to join this POW since I got a cool idea for it, but I don't have the time or programs to create it with at the moment. I will make the comic neverless what I had in mind sometime.

Looking forward to others vision of True Love in comic form and to POW 4. I really like this Community Activity forum and it's results.

It's because I need to scan the image, the programs are missing, to hook and install my scanner as well since I messed up some things with my working computer which is'nt 100% steady (but it's now free from viruses and spyware). Unless people like photographed comic pages....... And I have no time thanks to my internship at the moment with the deadline this close.

Good luck with the POW Skorpi, thanks for your concern.

I'm still running. I however don't know if I'm going to make it on time. I spanned on 6 pages but I can suppress the 2 firsts If I see I am not going to make it. So much going on my life right now, not terrible but it can be a curse.

Pherharps you could make the pannels more interesting, if you use different focuses.

This challenge made me realize something cool about my Widescreen 24" monitor and my Wacom, so I may have a tip for those who draw directly on their Wacom. Since we work in a wide stood up box area, my 24" have the ability to rotate verticaly and my graphic card have the ability to rotate the display as well. The most amazing thing is, the Wacom area is rotated 90 degrees as well

The results is you are working on a much larger zoomed canvas than when you draw on the standard 4:3/16:9 format, unless you clutter the surface with tools
